Sign up cut off date is Monday April 26, 2004 (we must have at least 16 drivers by this date)
Alright last night I talked to the guy who owns Stratotech and he is willing to let us rent the track really cheap how ever we only get a small amount of time to set this up
Rules:
-No passing you will go out in groups of four there will be a leader and a 3 followers split up by about 40 second gaps if you get to close you just need to back off a little. total of 2 groups of four on the track at once.
-There will be a rule about exhaust loudness I will get it later
-need a helmet.
-Stratotech is 33 feet wide and 1.25Miles long
Cost
with the minimum of 16 drivers= $157.00
With the maximum of 24 drivers= $105.00
That includes track rental, insurance and ambulance cost for 8 hours of track time
this is an invite to anyone interested in running at this event..I will need to know forsure if you are in or out by the end of the week
Info I need:
Name
Type of car and major mods (ie totally stock, upgraded suspension, upgraded engine)
Tires (R compounds or street)
Driver skill (lots of experince, Some experiance, new driver)
This will allow us to group cars and drivers together who are close to equal as possible.

Sounds like a great idea! Unfortunately I'm signed up for an autocross that same day. If you can make it happen again this summer and just give a bit more lead time I'd definetly be interested.
Keep us posted on how it goes and take some pics for us.

It's a "Porsche Club of America" (PCA) event at Namao. I am really curious how the lapping at stratotech goes. It's a pretty short and narrow track. Is there any driver education to go along with this or are they just letting you guys loose?

The track is 33+ feet wide....I am trying to get some driving instructors out for the event but have yet to hear back from them
here is some quick math for anyone wondering about the amount of track time they will get
with 16 drivers you will run 1 half hour session per hour for 8 hours that is a total of 4 hours on track time
with 24 drivers you will run 1 20 min session every hour for 8 hours totals up to 2 hours and 40 mins on track time |
