Engine Surging - Click HERE for Original Thread

CanadianSkyline
Hey, I have a 1992 Honda Prelude, and when it idles, it surges from about 1000 RPM until about 1800 RPM and then back down, over and over. Im wondering if any of you have had that problem or what you think it is. This is the H23 btw. Thanks in advance for any help.

could be a vaccum leak :dunno:

check ur PCV as well

HKSpowers
vacumme leak for sure man!!

My car was doing that until i found th e time to go through all your vaccumme lines and check for missing lines/hoses that may of fallen off.

If this is started happening just at random one day i would assume leak if you did a swap you might have one of the lines crossed.

Good luck

it just started happening or did you do something like a engine sway and it started doing it?

could be TPS could be vaccum.
but if you didnt' do anything and it just started,
that's wierd :)

clapbak
are your relay's clicking when it suges?

CanadianSkyline
Nope, theres no clicking and its kind of gradually done it more and more over time. It started out really mild when i got the car, and it only happened every once in a while. Now it does it all the time. Im gonna check the vacuum lines.
