Local FC prices? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

I'm looking at buying an NA FC3S at some point this summer and I'm just trying to get a feel on what the pricing is in Alberta. Checking Canadatrader I see '87s around $3000-4000, all the way up to around $6000 for 90s. I'm assuming the TIIs I've seen for $10k are either utterly mint or well modified for the price. Or sold by idiots :P

Assuming I do want to go the NA route (and I'm fairly certain I do), what's going to be a reasonable price for a clean one? i.e. nothing mechnically wrong even if the body isn't pristine. I guess something that's not likely to cost me sacks of money right after buying it.

Is there a specific year I should try and hunt down or are they mostly the same? I am fairly certain the later models had a bit more power on paper but is it substantial in reality?

My other question relates to the trim levels. I've found all kinds of conflicting info on the 'net, especially since most of it seems to be very US-centric. It also seemed liek the US trim levels differed from what we got in Canada. Specifically though, did any NA FC trims come with a stock LSD?

Thanks for any help that can be provided :)

I dont know about prices this year, but I got mine for 4500 a few years back... looked mint lol, but now its showing its age =(. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the hp difference between a s4 (86-88) and a s5 (89-91) is pretty noticable, plus its newer and usually in better condition. Here is a guide you might wanna glance over for things to look for when buying a N/A FC:

The base model (GX) I dont think came with a LSD, well mine didnt, but I'm pretty sure the GXL, TurboII, GTU and GTUs came with them. If i am wrong sorry :( The GTU and GTUs are really rare though. Happy hunting!
