clutch and flywheel - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey guys my clutch is going, im looking at a ACT racing cluch and lightweight fltwheel, is it worth the money or should i just but a stock clutch?

get a lighten flywheel, the car revs/accelerates much faster, it's nice. Definitly good for throttle response.

As for a aftermarket clutch depends on the price, the Exedy full face is good performance clutch that's about the same price as stock clutch i think. You really dont' need anyting heavy duty unless you are pushing 300hp.

true that !!

I was looking at a ACT clutch at jb's and i can get the clutch for not a whole more than the stock clutch costs.

what is the price??

mike3
I can get it for a bit 400 and some, and i've been told a prelude clutch is 300 and some from honda

You could always lighten the stock flywheel. It is possible to get the stocker down to 13-14lbs safely. I wouldn't go any lower though............

well do you think the added 100 dollars will be worth the preformance

98Luder
yea, lighten flywheel is always good.

You know how ppl always want to get into their optimal power band faster. That's basically what the lighten flywheel will help you do. You'll rev faster and get into your rpm "sweet spot" faster. So all and all, 100bucks is well worth it.

I got a 8lb flywheel and i love it.

Well then do it

98Luder
For the performance i think you shuld do it, either by shaving it or getting a newer lighter one, i think you'll like the gains.
