well i have an 89 240 and the engine just blew up i was wondering how much would it cost to swap a dohc engine in plus a manual tranny? who in the city would u recommend to do this.
im also looking for a place to buy a good quality engine and tranny. i was gonna do the sr swap but i just can't afford that right now.
please help guys

| There is always some engines for sale, search the marketplace here and on beyond. I know a guy by the name of "Hjr" is selling a DOHC engine. You'll need the engine, tranny, and wiring harness. I would expect to spend over $1000 at least. If you want a running engine I have a SOHC motor that I will sell for $300 and it will be a straight drop in swap that you could do yourself. |

| If your actually planning on going SR then dont spend an extra cent on swaping to a DOHC, trust me you will regret it in the future. |

i would like to go sr but the truth is i just can't afford it at the moment so im thinking buy a dohc and use that till i have enough money for an sr swap. plus i have to drive my car in the winter... and i don't know how drivable it wuold be with the sr in our conditions....
so wheres a good place to get the engine and tranny dropped into my car..?

i was quoted 6000 for an sr installed... this is including the engine
but i was just reading on beyond that theres a place in cowtown that sell em for 2400 and its 1100 to installl...
basically all i wanna do at the moment is get a stock sr up and running in my car.
please help guys.
i spoke with al's auto but they seemed pricy..
n e other places..?

| a shop in ontario sells them for 1300 with tranny and ecu. i was on ebay a week or 2 back and there was one for sale that had a 6 speed tranny from the same shop:drool: all for 1300 plus shipping which is like 500 bucks. if u want i can find u the link? |

If that is the place I am thinking of STAY AWAY! I know of at least 10 people that have beeen fucked over by them. I cant remember there name but if I saw their website I would know if it was them. |
