My gf has a 1999 Ninja 250 and if your are lookinf for cheap insurance thats the bike to get. They dont class it as a sport bike. She pays $247/year for pl/pl fire, theft and vandalism at Meloche Monnex.
And they have the pay as you ride plan so they spread the payments over the 7 months of riding season and then you dont pay anything for the rest of the year.
And get whatever bike you feel comfortable riding on and what type of riding you are going to be doing. For just learning and riding in town the 250 is great. On the highway not so great. I love riping around on my gf's (I ride a CBR 929) and I weigh 215lbs. and it hauls me around just fine. |
