what kinda numbers did u guys get?
and with what mods. thanks.
just curious on what other preludes got.

98Luder
5thGen (base)with
Cold Air intake
Tanabe exhaust

5thGen (base)with
UR Underdrive pulley
AEM CAI
GReddy PE Exhaust
NGK Copper spark plugs

5thGen (SH) with
AEM CAI
DC Sports Header
GReddy PE Exhaust
UR Underdrive Pulley
Field SFC/VTEC Controller

All brought to you by North Texas Prelude Group
NTPOG

The more i use our dyno graphs i like ours cause it's 2graphs in one, much easier to look at :) for me at least.
So on average more Preludes 5th Gen base should be at around 150-152whp? seems to be that way.

98Luder
You can see very clearly the car that was tuned it's Vtec point. The HP graph is so much more linear, not that big power drop right at the vtec point.

Tuning = happy ppl:bthumbup:

PET dyoned and tuned my 5th Gen auto lude. I think I got 150hp and 110 ft/lbs with a AEM CAI and a 5zigen axel back exhaust.

It's hard to compare dyno results from different dyno...

Oh yea i forgot to mention, our dyno SAE corrects for HP only
not for torque.
The torque numbers read on our dyno is the true number for our elevation and such, however, if you take the corrected HP numbers you can derive your corrected torque via the HP equation.

hp = (tq*rpm)/5252

you can work it backwards and get your correct torque.

Oh yea and keep in mind that auto's do put out a bit less power due to the tranny.

At the time I dyno'd at PE Tuning, I had type-s intake w/ K&N filter, AEM pulleys, and VAFC. My lude is also auto.

Baseline was 138whp. After air/fuel tuning, I was +/- 148whp & 112ft/lbs.

However, they were unable to use the proper SAE factor, so technically I would have been at 153whp.

I'll be doing another dyno session in the fall after I get a couple more goodies...

This is with DC header, Apex'i N1 exhaust, and Hondata

^^ that wasn't your car, was it

I have seen Mustang dyno's show a bit lower numbers.
Out of the 3 dynos in Edmonton
i find that the Mustang shows the least
then ours, the Dynapack
and the Dynojet reads the highest numbers.

However, numbesr are numbers i can fix the dyno to read high numbers too if i wanted too. The SAE corrected numbers are so we can all compare a bit with each other for hp(somewhat). The most important if you are tuning is the consistancy of the dyno.

That's why I'll stick w/ PE Tuning

yes that was my car almost a year and a half ago with DC header, exhaust and Hondata.

how hard was it to tunned with that set up that you have now (or how hard was it for your friend)?

Tuning for NA? Or tuning for turbo?

redmethods
sorry, tuning Hondata ( but my car is SC, but that should be like tuning for turbo)

buh_buh
it should take like 2-3 hours. Are you tuning from scratch? Do you have a basemap? The problem with Hondata is that it takes forever because you have to turn off the car, pull the chip, write the chip, then put it back in again.

redmethods
i belive with my SC there is a basemap that they have, because i'm going from 6psi to 9psi & Hondata as a base map for that . Well that is what i was told !! I think that it comes as a kit

buh_buh
if there's already a basemap and all you need to make are minor changes, then it should take roughly an hour or so.

jinn
buh_buh did you get your datalogging to work?
I talked to you a long time ago and you said you couldn't get the datalogging/trace map to work properly? All you have to do is go to Hondata's site and grab the software updates and it shoudl work. I got mine working good now. For an NA car we did fuel/ignition for full throttle and partial throttle tune in 1hr.

For a turbo car we took our time and did it in about 2hrs, just because we need to let the car cool done and stuff.

The funniest thing i saw was, cool down for 10min's, then dyno again we gained 10whp. Just because the intercooler was so heatsoaked, funny how the heat effects so much. I think we'll be getting another fan soon.

Hondata

98Luder
ah shooTT!!!!

that Jinn guy logged into my computer again :(

buh_buh
I never had datalogging, but i tried to use someone else's Hondata who had datalogging to tune at first.

But yeah, when we did my car for turbo, we didn't let the car cool down at first, and I made like 203whp, then we let the car cool down for like 5 or 10 minutes and the very next run with no changes to fuel or ignition I made 250whp.

MM99lude
Is that the WHP that you are currently running at?

here's my lastest dyno chart from a little over a month ago on a Mustang dyno.
