| I plan to have lots of shots like that later this summer. I've been looking at how I want to build my car mounts for the past week or so. I'm coming close to a design that should be universal. |

While not quite as much of the motion blurr effect.. Chromey got it pretty good on our trip to calgary last year :)
If it was in a tunnel im sure it'd be a bit more apparent..

Too bad they closed the rathole huh? That thing was wicked for blasting through. |

um...I'm calling PHOTOSHOP on those TT pictures
very nice shots but the effects can be made on software, no need for a camera to do such cool things :) |

High level bridge maybe? Or any bridge for that matter..
Or going down a hill next to some trees..
Road trip thru those tunnels in the mountains on the way to kelowna from calgary :)

I have no doubt they are touched up.
I used them as an example of what I would like of my car, if Matt could hook me up. |

| Those shots could be acheived provided you mounted the camera well, like Matt plans to do. |

These are the types of shots that you will achieve with actual night motion on a moving vehicle.

I couldn't tell you if those TT shots are actually moving, but they are photoshopped a fair bit to achieve that lighting effect. Good white light in an underground parking garage could make some pretty cool shots though!

P.S. Those 2 Supra shots are unaltered and a couple of the most beautiful moving vehicle shots I've ever seen by an amateur photographer! |

I've been working on some similar (unedited) stuff, nothing at night yet tho.

I just noticed now in the 4th pic that the car wasn't moving at all......looks like the TT pics were all standing still. I thought at first maybe they were moving with some more blurring effect added after. I guess not.
I'll have to get something going soon, I don't really trust those suction cup mounts though. Sure it can hold 75 lbs with a straight pull, but I bet it can't hold 1/4 of that with a sideways pull putting the stress on just one of the cups. |

Yeah, the TT shots are heavily photoshopped, you can see this is evident because the background through the windows is not blurred, and thefarther away in the background it is, it doesn;t get blurrier or anything, its the same at 5 feet away as it is 50 ft away.
As far as the suction mounts go, I would run a safety harness off the camera and slam it in a closed door. |

Safety harnesses can only do so much. Some of the best shots come with the camera sitting off the front of the car, even with a harness it would fall the foot or so to the ground before the harness grabs it. That is unless you work a bungee system like I'm trying to figure out. If it falls under tension it should be pulled up towards the harness mount.
I've been trying to figure out a single mount that will work everywhere, I don't think it's going to happen though. I'll probably have to make several different style mounts to do it right.

P.S. James, I'm not really fond of that shot of your car, such sloppy framing by myself! This is a little better.

And this one may not be the greatest, but I like how the rear 1/4 of the Buick was in the shot.

I've been looking at getting a helmet cam style camera for a couple years now, but I don't really think I'll get enough use out of it honestly. I just know I'll end up buying it and everyone else will want to use it to make videos, or I'll end up feeling obligated to make all sorts of videos with people's vehicles.

Those suction cups look pretty stout.. i dont think it'd have much problem holding your camera there.. besides, im sure there is a clip inside holding the camera body in place :)

| The interesting shots are taken when the camera is hanging a ways off the front or back of the car though. |

Yea, you can make a little belt or hook that gets pinched under your hood, with that suction cup, im sure it would be stable, and secure..
so what cleans bug guts off camera lenses good? :)

My buddy Glen is coming to visit me in mid July, I'll try and get him out to one of the meets, but this is a photo I snapped from my Z of his Z as we were hauling back from Seattle to Spokane (Washington) earlier this year. It was about 7am when I snapped this.
I used a Canon s400 and just held it out the window... we do this sort of thing a lot.

His car has 19" Volk GT-C's, 9.5 front, 10.5 rear. Tien suspension like mine and he's planning some extreme custom twin turbo application soon as well. |
