SPORT COMPACT SERIES RETURNS FOR ‘04

The Sport Compact Challenge Series presented by MAZDA Canada enters its second year at Race City Motorsport Park with its first race this weekend as part of the FATHERS DAY FUNNY CAR CLASSIC presented by NAPA.

All Sport Compact cars are welcome to compete, regardless of make or model. If numbers warrant, competition will be divided into two categories – Bracket Racing and Heads-Up Racing. The Bracket class will run in any case.

New this year is the Team Trophy for any group of four competitors. Points for each member of the team will be recorded and totalled to decide the top team at each event. There will continue to be individual winners in both the Bracket and Heads-Up classes and a season championship based upon the cumulative performance over the four-race series.

Dates for the Sport Compact Challenge Series presented by MAZDA Canada are:

June 20 – FATHERS DAY FUNNY CAR CLASSIC
July 17 – V8Less Sport Compact Show
August 15 – Canadian National Open
September 12 – IN-LINE TOWING Sunday Drag Series Final

For those like me that could not find out about registration info I called Race City and it is just a show and Go event, no pre-registration is required. I think you can tech in for the weekend also at the Friday night secret street, "Racecity" can correct or confirm this perhaps. What I haven't found is when the tech gates open for racers, can anyone confirm this?

Here are some more details, they were kind of hard to find on the site.
