SketchifisT
Going with that kid has some talent, its funny him doin reverse, out of all the guys that have ever stolen a vehicle he deserved to get away

CanadianSkyline
Im thinkin it had to be a V6 mustang...cause if it were a 5speed GT it'd pull on a cop car....but yeah...i was pullin for him to get away.

Pro Drag
It was a v6, flat hood.

PraxRX7
whoa on the skillz

bigmack000
saw thsi be fore but still love it
the cops were prony "SOB" every time he recovored.

THUD
OMG that would have been fun! I want to do that now.
What he did is probaly the only recovery to the pitman manuvor, once the cop begins it there is no other choice......I do supose he could have tapped the brakes to keep more of the cop car beside him so it would not work, but that would have ment he would have to slow down...which is bad in a high speed chase.
GO DUDE GO!
:p

ChromeDragon
Impressive, most of the people that are involved in these high speed chases are the exact people that shouldn't be involved. Regardless, the police didn't take kindly to being outdriven. The first 3 attempts at the Pitman manuever they did textbook by backing off and letting the car spin. Usually a driver wouldn't recover it and try to keep going, so the last time the officer stuck close and made sure he wouldn't take off again. I say good driving by the cops!

BlueTurboEGG
Cool under pressure, totally in control.

Impressive, most impressive.

For both the cops and the thief.

Mekanik22
Holy shit! That theif recovered very cleanly a few times! That was acually an exciting chase. You don't see very often a car theif that can keep control like that under pressure. He must have quite a bit of experience and must know that car pretty good.

scooby_dooby
whoa that's some sweetness, i dunno about you guys but i'm pretty impressed with the cops one after another, methodical takedown, that's some good training.

Brian Earl Spilner, sounds like a serial killer. Is that what he is..??

Mekanik22
LOL  Then when he gets out of jail, he'll drive to a local performance shop and smash his bumper on the curb, ranting and raving that he need NOS because he spun out.

oldraven
I bet when that cop was pushing him in reverse he had a big grin on his face. :D (gotcha punk) They'd be lookin each other in the eye, I can guarantee you that.

I'll pretend to give you a cookie. Or a boot in the arse, which ever suits me. :)

dogstar
reminds me of the getaway in stockholm ones, except you never see the cop cars ;)
and they dont get caught.

Mavrick
I've done that same manouever in Mustangs on a few occassions, although never with cops chasing and hitting me. :o They are a very well balanced car with a short wheelbase, and 180 spins are easily controlled.

Poor fella needed a 4.6 in that Stang tho, and those Vics could suck on some exhaust.

I believe I have that video. http://jester.griprod.com/temp/TalonChase.avi

Apparently the DSM vid was a 16yo kid who was bragging to his friends about having stolen cars and outrunning the police and they didn't believe him, so he took one of his buddies out in a stolen Talon to prove it. Notice how he hits the brakes several times to wait for the cops to catch up before he takes off again. I wonder what he thought when the Mustang came into play?

Talons are quick, and I dig 'em a lot, but don't ever think you can take a Mustang on the highway. Anything above 50km/h, yer gonna lose. As young laddy there found out.

Mav.

Pro Drag
The DSM got caught in that particular vehicle because no turbocharged vehicle can run Wide Open Throttle (WOT) like that for such an extreme period of time.
Exhaust manifold and Turbine housing were probably deformed from the heat.
