:( Lately, I've been looking for a 180sx with IC, but the most that I've seen have come up with either horrid body problems or engine problems...I find this great LOOKING 180, but apparently the turbo doesn't work. :dunno: I dont know my cars too well yet, and I was just hoping to get some other people's opinions on the blown turbo.

On the side note, :fingersx:...just waiting for some sort of good news from Christian!

arabian_ryda
if the turbo dosnt work the car wont run or will run but very terrible. if the turbo has problems i would think is hasnt been tooken good care of or seroius damage was done to the car and was sent to auction

A good opportunity to upgrade to an SR turbo. You cant run the engine with the blown turbo, it wont be like having an n/a CA.

mr_sars
:p I want to try to build up the CA18DET...a SR20DET isn't out of the question, but it always boils down to how much it costs and how much I have. :(

DeathBy240 meant upgrading the actual turbo to the turbo from an SR20, not the whole engine. The SR20's turbine is bigger than the CA18's.

arabian_ryda
the one in the sr20 is what a t3? the ca18det comes with a t25 right

DeathBy240
The S13 SR is also a T25.

mr_sars
:p Oh haha, well if I were to buy a new turbo I'd like a T28. Anyone know any vendors in Edmonton that can get me a good deal?

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
everyone wants bigger ....I am just getting an OEM replacement T25 Turbo ...it isnt that expensive at all ...

oldraven
If you've got enough exhaust, bigger is always better. There's not much point for engines that can't max out their stock turbines flow rating, but I know mine is choking pretty hard on that little IHI turbine housing.

BIGGER!

Mind you, on a 1.8L, I wouldn't go too much bigger than stock, or it'll take you up to 5G+ just to spool.

detpulsar
Just upgrade to a gt2530 or gt2830 they both bolt on to the stock manifold. Thats my plan once I got some cash.

i'd say go t28bb

mr_sars
^ I'd happily go with a T28BB from a newer silvia, but I'm not sure how much trouble the engine would have with making the turbo spool...

Just going through ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ssPageName=WDVW Anyone know who this is??? Edmonton, Alberta; I think its hard for someone to have t28 silvia turbo in their volkswagon to be not known here...

midnite
from what i read the t28bb spools about as fast as the stock t25.
