is there a substantial difference b/w a new and used vtech controller?
what's the best brand?

THey all do about the same thing, shift the point at which the V-Tech engages to a user defined point.

you know what? i realized afterwards there was a "marketplace".. i felt like such an idiot.. i was going to edit that post but i was lazy :D
so getting a second hand vtec controller is no difference from getting a new one?
how much are they about? someone else told me apex too.. me thinks :dunno:

i had a vafc II and it was horrible :mad: tkaes too mcuh tiem to tune . get hondata

actually, i was wondering.. are the best deals for parts online or what? because there are some places that ppl get parts in toronto but i wouldn't call them.. "deals" at all

You absolutely do NOT need a vtec controller if you're on stock cams. Hack even some mild cams like the skunk2 stage 1's or toda A's don't really need a vtec controller. Besides, for about the price of a VAFC you can have hondata, which is infinitely better for tuning.

Unless you are stepping up to Hondata I would use a Greddy Emanage. As for gains just finished finding 16HP on a 2000 Civic D16 SOHC.
