Seeing as how the season is at an end, and meets will most likely be few and far between :) I'm gonna have some time this winter.
I'm a web Developer by day, and I think I'm going to start working on a kick ass page for edmonton Civic owners. It'll most likely be flash & php based, so It'll be dynamic & interactive, and hopefully eye-pleasing.
So, if anyone has any input (club name, ideas for what to put on the website, or simply tell me to stop this messed up idea) please feel free to let me know.
Also, anyone interested in helping me gather fellow civic owners or helping me in other ways, again, let me know. |

| There are chapters of Civic clubs in canada. There is one in Vancouver: www.vancouvercivics.com, and Toronto. It would be great to see the same responses in Edmonton. The Vancouver meets are always great!!! |

Dude. I'll give you a hand. I'm kinda embarrased. But I drive a 4 door 99 civic as my winter beater. So I'm kinda embarrassed about it. Anyways. You should include all of Alberta. Look at our RSX club, we got guys from Calgary all the way up to Fort Mac.
But I'm willing to join the civic club if you will allow a 4 door. But I'll help gather up some Civics for you man. |

| If its an alberta club. Make it a catchy one. We can't go by generation wise due to the fact there are 7 different generations of them. I have the 6th. At first I was thinking AlbertaCivics. But its not as catchy. |

Yeah I think we should include the guys from the clubel. They are civics at heart. But under a different brand name. Still the same thing. Anyways. Lets start a list who is willing to be part of this new group of friends..
Lets say we have at least 10-15 guys sign up then we'll have a first little meet like at Soda Jerks or something. I'm sure we can get 10 guys quick. There are lots of civic and EL guys out then. I don't think we should catagorize what kind of civic. Any kind would be nice.

That way, we all get to learn each other cars, each other, and learn other ways to rice out our cars. I'm embrassed about my civic 4 door auto. But I'm willing to join up. |

I'm from Edmonton and i'm willing to help out with as much as i can. This civic club is a wicked idea. Here's some crappy ideas for a name. Maybe they'll give you guys a good laugh, or at least inspire a good name.

well, www.albertacivcis.com has been purchased :) but I'm still looking for a name. I've posted at clubsi (in the west forum where all the RD guys hang out), so that should gather some interest.
A splash page will be up with in the week, with hopefully a temp page to follow while I build the site from the ground up. When the site's done, I'll look into shop deals, meets, etc.

I dynoed at 176 on Stew's Mustang Dyno. It's a bit low compared to the guys int eh states pulling 200 on a Dynojet at 12psi, but based on what Stew says it should be pretty close to 200 on a dynojet.
I'll be working on tuning soon. That's pretty much an untuned pull just for baseline. |

the ludes are already starting they're own club. Or trying. The tags and start they're own if they want. I want to be also part of a all civic/El club. I want to draw the lines there. When we have meets and all that. It'll just be just civics and El's. If they want to come along for a cruise, we'll think of something at that time. But in the mean time, lets gets this new club off its feet and running. I agree with you drastik about an all our pure civic club. This province should have one of they're own.
There are clubs everywhere. I'm still amazed that there isn't a civic club here yet. As it looks. Me and you drastik, looks like we have our hands full with this new club if and when it materializes. I would like to see it happen. In the mean time, we should just keep our club just a pure civic club until something really happens. But thats my 2 cents. |

I only bring this up because I've been getting slack (not that it's bad - interest is always a good thing) about not making it for 'tegs too.
If we let el's participate, then why not other honda cars?

Don't forget - the EL guys already have a club.
The civic club can always be afiiliated with another Honda club. But I think you'll have your hands full with Civic's alone. Maybe not now, but when the club grows, I think Civics alone will be fine - even with civics we're talking 5 or 6 gens right ? :)
Do what the DC5AB guys do, call it an Civic meet, but everyone is welcomed. Just make them park at the end like they did with CFlude :bigthumbup: |

Markis, when DC5AB started. It just started as a RSX group. Then it grew and incorporated a few other clubs. But it looks like its just RSX now. Its fine with me.
As far as civics go. I think we should have all generations of civics from 1st thru 7th in this club. If we incorporate other groups. Its gonna have to be a decision this new club makes at a later date. But then again, this is just my 2 cents.
Cflude, we just wanted him singled out at our last meet. Its funny to looks all the RSX's then looks at the lude. |

1. edmonton and north.
2. calgary and south.
3. red deer and surrounding.

that way each can do they're own thing, or can share with everyone.

Dude, just put out the word that me and drastik are drawing up ideas for a civic club. Just tell them to log onto this site and this thread and help us out with ideas.
As for Cua0, I don't think we have a name for the new club yet but I think drastik has already purchased the domain name albertacivics.com or .ca. I don't remember which one. If you have a suggestion, please give us some. I think it'll be some time before we get everything off the floor and on the road. I wouldn't rule out the idea of EL's being part of this newly found club. Just lots of kinks to fixed out. I'll put my 2 cents out but I would like to see the EL club part of the new civic club. But again, thats my 2 cents.
Anyways. Looks like this club is gaining interested. I'm gonna be out in my civic soon. My DC5 is parked this Saturday. Maybe in 2 weeks we should have a greet and meet faces. That way we get to know faces instead of user names.
