Ok, everyone seems to always blurr out their license plates in pictures. Why? Everyone can see your plate when you're in a parking lot, driving around, whereever. So why bother? What am I missing?

Oh for sure, so next time I'm walking in the Wal Mart parking lot and see your car I'm gonna write down the plate... see what I'm getting at?! The only thing seeing a plate on the net contributes to is convinence in my opinion. |

its easy to get an address to a plate.
you post on forum, "I just installed 5000 in stereo equipment, and got my compustar working great and I finally got that engine I jsut put 10k into running perfect"
Theif takes your plate down, finds out where you live, and grabs one of hte many resources for overcoming the computstar on the net.
gets his tools ready, reads on here that your going away for a weekend and leaving your car in the garage so it will be safe, so he notes to bring a bar to break in that door too. |

yes, but dumb ass behind you doesnt know exactly what you have.
you drive behind me and tell me what rods I am using, or my cranks brand.
I mean maybe its some made in china hardly spins pos, or maybe its a forged knifed high end crank.
would be the difference between good to steal or not.
Also lots of you post when you are going away. maybe your car isnt home even, but they know you arent home either.
Hell they can find out if you have good tools even.
If I was a theif, thats how I would do it, join a local car board, read for guys that can do their own work. read their off topic posts, and see when they leave, or when no one is home even.
Doing a search of deathby240 besides bring up a whole lot of garbage posts has some good stuff. |
