What if...
I parked a car right in front of a photo radar van?
I'm sure he could just move, but damn. I think if we all started doing that, it might cause some talk
Of course nothing we can do about the highway guys, but they're easy to spot. |

| do they park there with cop or not inside? In BC, the van and the camera are mostly left there for few hours. We might spray some paint on them LOL, j/k |

There is a photo radar operator inside the van.
My buddy is one ;) |

| They'd for sure ask you to leave... I've heard rumours that if you're travelling 150+ MPH the camera can't pick you up... riiigght... |

| you don't need 150 mph, heard that they can only trap cars up to 188 kmh, last time I asked the cop in a car show. What if he lied? haha |

All Euro cars are speed limited to 155 mph (249.4km/h, 69.17m/s) because photo radar can't photograph a car going 157mph (252km/h, 70.2 m/s). Why? The takes 2 pictures .5s apart. The field of view of the camera is limited to 35m, so if you are going over 157mph, you can cover about 36m in half a second, so your car would be out of the field of view on the picture.
Also, the accuracy at speeds over 100mph is 1%, so once you hit 157mph, the error rate of 1.57mph gets rounded up to 2mph, which causes the photo radar unit to toss out the measurement because of the high error rate (2mph is the limit). I don't know why it doesn't round up at 150mph... ask a computer guy...
Anyone wanna test these explanations?? :D
