Might be a dumb thought but...
Is there any possibility for a car wash bay to reuse and recycle the water for car wash use?
Reason I'm asking is cuz I was at the car wash just now. As always, I use the wand for the soap. Drove home which took me about 45 sec. Use my leaf blower to blow dry the car in the garage.
But I noticed that the water was not sliding off the car as well and as fast as it had in previous washes, therefore, someparts of the car there's actually "hard" water spots that developed. So my car is no more cleaner than it was before the wash.
I handwash the car a week ago infront of my house and the water just slid of my car like an eel. Zaino the car the next 2 days (sat and sun) and the first wash since then was just now.
   |

| I think they reuse the water,or sometimes maybe get it out of a swamp,i washed my car at hughes on 97&111th a while ago and it was gritty after when i shammied it.Needless to say, i didn't finish shammying it, cause i think it would have scratched. |

| So I guess their commercial on the radio of using "Fresh water" is false advertising and misleading the customers?!?!? |

The newer car washes usually have a "spot free" rinse setting at a lower pressure than the regular rinse. It works very well, I never wipe a thing and get zip for streaks & spots.
I was told it is just distilled water that they use for it so it has no mineral deposits to leave behind. Don't know that for a fact, but it sounds good. |

| I only wash my car at the Jumbo Car wash in sherwood park. It has spot free rinse and all that good stuff, they also take very good care of the place and the water isn't recycled. PLus its like a car show in there most of the time.:D |

I use them too, but I think its filtered water.
Cause that mr clean spot free thing works great too. |

I doubt any car washes actually recycle thier water. Our company has several wash bays in each of our locations and we use fresh water and if you would see how dirty the sewage tanks get from all the run off, you would realize it would take one hell of a system to clean that water quick enough to reuse.
We use whatever water Epcor puts through its water lines and I'm sure other places use the same. Although we add water softener to ours, and I'm sure most places don't waste money on that. |

that probably saves money, water softner is cheaper then soap.
and soap suds faster and easier and more with soft water. |

Everyoen should invest in a MR Clean car wash system, it works so well im amazed at how it looks every time i wash it, and it only takes 15 minutes MAX.
About the same time it would take you to drive your car somewhere and wash it.

I have the MR clean system, its crap for the "rinse free" cycle, comes out slow as hell. I do, however like the rest of the settings(soap, etc). |

That's how it's supposed to be.
When you wash a car you let the water run off of the paint slowly with little to no pressure, which leaves a lot less water sitting on the car to be dried (Whether by towel or leaving it sit there) |

Mr. Clean's spot free rinse works great.
I've never had personally experience with the car wash bays - just know that some friends say it's alright... |
