I did, but my friend's car got flooded in the mall parking lot, and my other friend's basement got flooded.

It looks so nice outside our office window right now. Blue sky, sun shining...doesn't look like any evidence of what happened last night!

I was moving out water in a friend's basement in Belgravia. I hear Fox Drive is open this morning, it wasn't all night last night!

Neither did I. Tried to get my car under the parking lot at Southgate (to get out of the hail) and went through a puddle that was WAY deeper than it looked. Car stalled, won't start. I'm expecting the worst.

Shit. Sorry to hear that.

Yeah, your old place most likely flooded, or at least the area did.

SplineZ
In the last 25yrs, it survived all storms without flooding.. thats why im curious :)

A lot of people's basements were flooding because the water was getting so high it leaked through the basement windows! The water was high enough that it was going over the window wells. In some situations it was coming through side doors.

A lot of the causes were improper drainage of eavestroughs. Some people had their eavestroughs just dumping the water onto the property or the neighbour's property instead of properly flowing the water to the street.

Then again, a lot of the storm sewers were clogged from all the hail coming down. In Belgravia, where I helped out, it looked like Edmonton in November, like we'd just had a fresh snowfall!
