| So as of right now I'm a second year electrician working on over head cranes. I think I will stick it out and get my ticket. The things is I don't know if I want to do electrical for thr rest of my life. I know I really like to work on my car so I was thinking of trying my hand at that. The thing is I make ok money doing electrical and I know I would have to start at the bottom with cars but, I don't want to take the pay cut. What I would like to do with cars is custom installs and stuff like that more than just fixing them. One thought I had was trying to find a shop that I could work on the weekends while I did electrical during the week. I want to find out if I would like to work on cars for a living, it's different when your working on other peoples car then your own. I want to get a little experiance before I jumped right in. I would like to know your thoughts on this approach and if you might know any shops that might take on a fairly green guy under their wing. All feed back is welcomed. |

You have to answer this question....
Do you live to work ..........or work to live.
Once you figure out the path that is right for you....things will become clear.
IMO the things you mention are things you would love to do for yourself, friends, and maybe as a long term hobby.
Again IMO.....Never turn something you love into work....... It will become that..... WORK.
My day job has given me a good income, time, time and even more free time that I spend doing the things I like to do. Taking apart my cars... :) |
