Best Body Shop in Edmonton??? Pls HELP!!! - Click HERE for Original Thread

kellyk75
Well, I fell victim to Whitemud Westbound yesturday in the middle lane. I rear ended a guy in a 2001 Accord and caused alot of damage to my front end (97 Prelude).

Short story, the guy I hit saw me coming, and agrees that it was a fluke (I was shoulder checking at the EXACT second trafic went from 85 to stop....... most people locked their brakes), I wasn't tailgating or driving aggresively (which he confirms).......... just really bad timing.

Now to the point......... which bodyshop can I trust to get my baby "Perfect"? I have had some "reputable" shops butcher my cars in the past....... so I am hoping that someone can give me a GREAT shop to go to. I have an Eucalyptus Green Prelude (with green, burgandy, & silver metallics in it) that is VERY difficult to match.

I am already planning on taking it to Doug's Place (known by reputation). Any thoughts?

The real kicker about this is I was also in the eye of the sunday storm and was on my way home to continue "ripping my basement apart".

Sigh!!!!

Also, to all you pricks yelling at me to move my car....... I have to ask........ HOW!?!:asshole: 3000lbs uphill........ couldn't roll back as traffic wouldn't even let up for me to walk to the side of the road!!!!!!! Oh, and thanks for making me feel Soooooo much better!!!!!!:drama:

if you haven't already taken it somewhere, i'd reccomend modern or dougs. tight budget? then I would suggest leejay or pristine

Pro Drag
Modern

modern hands down. but it's pretty $$$$

SlowAzzPorsche911T
considering norden takes their porsches there... I would imagine so, mind you.. you pay for what you get right?

the jag dealership takes their jags to Empire Autobody, and I would HIGHLY reccomend them.. they are friends of the family, and I trust their work

Ya I saw you in the middle of the whitemud, man was traffic backed up. I think it slowed down just west of 111st. Your car looked to be in pretty bad shape. How much engine damage was done? I hope you can get back on the road soon. Oh ya I was also thinking "why can't he just move the car over and let us by", I see your point about the traffic. I almost got hit by a car when I got into an accident on the mud and that was at 4 in the morning. Crazy drivers.:dunno:

Dougs place. Had some stuff painted there. made my 2 year old factory paint look like the shitty paintjob that it is ...

No place to push it....... like I said "3000 lbs uphill". It took the tow truck driver, a cop, and my dad to push it. Backing it up was not an option with all of the a$$holes on the road. Plus it was only there for 30 min....... and it's not like I haven't been stuck in traffic there LOTS because of an accident or stalled car!!! I have NEVER been mad at the drivers unless it is moving slow because of rubber neckers......... man I hate people who do that.

Car is not as bad as it looks I have been told. I slid under the accord since my nose was down and his rear was up from braking hard so it is all sheet metal damage......... I think the engine is okay...... but I will find out at noon.

Decided on doug's place....... Modern Autobody can't even do an estimate for 4 wks......... that made up my mind.

Thanks for the advise though........ and feeling my pain:banghead: The insurance comnpany gave me some good news....... I don't want to jinx it so I will not go into details....... the car I rear ended's statement matched mine and it was just a fluke accident. The bummer is that this is after my house was flooded and is now beginning to smell. Double whammy!!!!

Dont go to Dougs. They did my car, and the damn paint started chipping within a year. They wouldnt even warranty it.
