SLVRBLU is a lil' hurtin..... - Click HERE for Original Thread

SLVRBLU
Wow what a couple weeks.....I went up to Calgary last Tuesday for the day to grab some stuff for the car...

So I'm driving down MacLeod Trail, and smoke starts to give'r out of the engine, so I let off a few swears, pull into a parking lot, and open to hood only to find that...

theres coolant everywhere!!! FOOCK!

Take er to cdn tire (since it was just a lil coolant leak) lol they say that the problem was the bloack heater (which it was) and it was shot to hell cuz coolant was escaping from it... so $240 later its all fixed, and im ready to head back to lethbridge for 'wheelers..

So i get in the car, start er up, coolant starts pouring this time...

Bust out a couple more swears......

now the car is parked in c spot and everyone wants like 500 bucks just to diagnose it, so i gotta get er flatbedded back to leth here and then i can open er up myself, hopefully the verdict is just a blown head gasket, and the entire head isnt warped....only time will tell....shit.

Kid, fock I thought you got this shit fixed already, yo if you want any help checking er out give me a call, should be good most of the weekend (excluding fri.). I'd say we could just tow it to my house with the Trooper but it won't be done till the 28th.

if you didn't run a head spacer and are boosting more than 4-6 psi, the compression prolly blew out the gasket or buggered your head.

good luck :(

my possible head gakset/cracked head fiasco turned out to be a shot fan relay, allowing coolant to boil and leak a bit.

but my car is 15 years old and not boosted, i doubt you'll be so lucky.

Thats brutal dude, hope that thing goes back together well...and cheap for that matter so you can ballin the turbo'fire again...lol.

SLVRBLU
lol i wish, gonna be expensive, i need a new head gasket (100 US) (copper) and i need exhaust, intake, valve cover gaskets, and bolts....plus...

LABOUR!

so im screwed

djnoesis
do they make a metal head gasket for your car that u could put on there

SLVRBLU
well, they do make a copper one, but i would need to "o-ring" the head, and thats a shitload of work, and shouldnt have to be done for only 6spi (which im running)

it turned out that the problem was LOOSE HEAD BOLTS!! can u believe it!? my mechanic said that all the gaskets were "ok" but werent blown, he could tell that theyve been in the car for a few years, but they werent blown, so i got new gaskets anyways to prevent any blowing in the future, and got new head bolts and got er all fixed!!

im coming into calgary on tuesday i think to come and pick up my car finally!!!

djnoesis
right on just got back from e town it was a blast up there i think im gonna go back there this weekend
