Is it okay to run my 4 point sparco harness on the street?

SaabKraft
i think no... has to do with mounting issues, restricted visibility, regulations etc....

MightyMidget

How about NO

Mustard

and you would still have all the advantages of a 4 point...

i'm only asking because i have the abilty to have both on at same time....

Mustard you are right if you choose to wear your seatbelt over your harness you are ok you are still following the law you are just getting extra protection and your car is still street legal

mwdguy & MightyMidget -it is because of guys like you there are so many uniformed ricers in Edmonton instead of just saying NO back it up with reasons

I have talked to many Police officers about my 5 point harness and they all said I would not get a ticket for it even though it is illegal...My car has also passed tech at every race event I have participated in

do some research and find the best mounting points (perferably use the stock seatbelt mounts) and if you get a ticket for it....it is nobodies fault but your own

Cool, thanx man.

But next time please don't associate me with "uninformed ricers" :P

I think Schrothe harnesses are the only belts that are street legal.

I looked at the "FMVSS 209" & from what I can read I believe it is the US standards as compared to Canada. I hate to say it folks but I haven't heard of a system yet in Canada that meets the Canadian requirements. The Canadian equivalent of the "Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 209" is the "Motor Vehicle Safety Act - Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations Standard 209
