Friday night has a 100 Footer competition for anyone who wants to see what their car will do. There are no prizes on Friday night, as it is intended to bring out the 'regular' vehicles for fun.
Saturday has the Show 'n Shine in the morning for those who wish to show off their rides. Starting about noon, the 100 Footer Competition for cash and prizes will begin.
Saturday evening will be the cruise downtown, which is typically bumper-to-bumper until after dark. There will also be a free drive-in movie downtown, for anyone who is interested in a little bit of 'parking'. ;)
For more information, go to www.camrosecruisers.com
I'd sure love to see some more V8Less cars this year. Bring 'em out!!
To see what the 100 Footer is all about, check out the footage I took in May, when our regular show was rained out. You can see it at http://www.camrosecruisers.com/vide...NiteRainOut.wmv

Why the hell do you have to wear a helmet going that short of distance. Each vehicle is like a 3.000-3.700 second run because it's so short. If you can't drive that far without crashing, you can't drive, lol. You reach maybe, MAYBE 60-70 km/h? If that...? Don't flame me, or get all defensive, it just looks funny.
EDIT: That one GMC, I think it's an older S10, Daym it's fast! |

I ain't gonna flame ya. You're right. The helmet requirement is brand new for this year, and stipulated by our insurance company. Apparently they've started paying a lot more attention to these events, and are jumping on the gravy train. We went from $1200 for the whole weekend to $5,000 per day just for the 100 Footer. We had a bitch of a time getting a better price too. But this thread isn't about COCKSUCKER insurance companies, so I'm not going to get into it here.
That S-10 that you see (actually, there's three different ones), is a Syclone. Yes, they go off faster than a dress on prom night. Not bad for a pickup truck, huh?
That fat-ass conversion van at the beginning is quite a spectacle, too. It has a full load with fridge, stove, microwave, and bed in the back, and can still pull 3.0!
It's a great show, if you can make it down, trust me, it's worth it. Camrose is less than an hour away, and the show has gotten better every year for the last 10 years.
Hope to see you there. Just look for the guy with all the cameras. ;)
