hey guys. I dont post here often, but I'm having a problem with my car and despite my best efforts I cant figure it out.
During that first big rain storm, my rx sucked a bunch of water into the air intake. the car stalled right away and hasn't run since. It's a '84 GSL-SE. I complealy replaced my ignition with a MSD unit and direct fire. I pulled my entire intake apart(right to the block), cleaned it all up and still nothing.
Every time I go to start it the car seems to flood, when I pull the plugs out of the engine they are covered in fuel. fuel pressure regulator seems to be ok. is it possible to blow an injector or something?
Are the mazda mechanics any good with old rotarys? |

so water might have gotten into the motor?
how long was it left with possible water inside?
could have rusted things up = low compression.
could always pull start it.

From what I understand, it is quite common with the SE that in time the fuel injectors start to leak.
I installed a toggle switch inline fo my fuel pump so if it started to flood. I could shut the fuel pump off and crank it a bit and once it starts to fire I flip the toggle. |
