Trouble with Maint. Req. light - Click HERE for Original Thread

I don't own the service manual for my car ('95 RS) and I'm trying to figure out what it means when you start the car and Maintenance Required light comes on and flashes 10 times. It turns off after that, but obviously there's something up. I've reset the ECU and the problem still exists. I've replaced one of my fuses (10A) for the instrament panel and running light relay which was burnt out, but that didn't seem to help (plus my running lights and panel are still dark at night...argh!).

Does anyone know anything about this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

its just reminding u, that u need to do maintenance at this time interval, i had that on my 95 integra, there is a green button under the dash that u gotta hold down for x amount of seconds.

Yeah man, you sold the car to me. She's been running pretty good. Just some stupid short in the relay that I gotta fix. She'll probably be my winter beater soon.

lol good to hear the car is running good. Yea i had that light come on the car before.

The car is great man, right now its parked and im swapping the engine out, im 50% done the swap lol, just gotta get the enw engine.


BTW what kinda car u gunna get for the summer?

the only thing i can think of about the instrument cluster is maybe that the dimmer for the cluster may have come off(the harness) as on the mr2 that doesnt allow the lights on the clusdter come on.

tail lights? maybe burnt bulbs or fuse..

haha, no no, no type R stickers. Although they do add 20-30 HP :D .

It's most definitely a short in the relay somewhere. I had to take it to southview acura. They're super nice and only charged me for an hour even though they put in 2+. They can't belive the amount of wires coming in and out of the fuse box. The guys who put the security system in did one hell of a job (and not in a good way). I'll have to bring it back to them later next week to figure it out.

I was thinking of something like a TL (270 HP stock...how can you go wrong), although I don't think they come in a coupe. I was also looking at maybe going over to Nissan, but it won't happen till next year.

lol i never even got to use the damn starter or alarm.

I once looked inside there under the deck, and was confused and said fuck it lol.

did u try to push and hold the button under the dash on the right side of the steering colum and turning the key to "on" the light should light up, and go out within about 10secs. thats if everything is okay with the cars electrical system. buttom maybe a lil hard to find but its there..
