Where can I find all the laws regarding NEV's (neighboorhood electric vehicles) and golf carts.
From C.N.N. ..
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules require at least seatbelts, turn signals, headlights and other safety equipment for vehicles with a top speed between 20 and 25 miles per hour that are to be driven on public roads. Vehicles like this are commonly called Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, or NEVs.
Is that the same as canada? |

Golf carts are not street legal in Alberta. Snow-mobiles, Quads, 2-stroke motorcycles (ie: off-road), and many other forms of transport that are legal on the road in other parts of North America are not either in Alberta. The Sequay isn't legal for use anywhere...not on the street, and not on the sidewalk.
Not much help to your original question...but it's a start in terms of narrowing down the field. |

Hmmm... I live in the Highlands region, around ada boulevard, and almost every time I go for a run I see members of Highlands golf course drive their golf carts home...
I guess I was just wondering if there is any way you can bring them "up to par" *chuckle* with todays laws and regulations.
Meh, I'm still gonna buy one. I've researched and found ALOT of things I want to do with one. Maybe I'de even bring it out to car shows when I'm done...
[Edit]
I know you can get kits for brake lights, turn signals, high/low beam headlights, seat belts, license plate brakets with light, and you CAN purchase high speed electric motors that can reach 40 kph... |
