| Im looking to get a apex N1 cat back exhaust put on my eclipse. The only thing is that iv never heard one. I know that there performance is great but the sound of them. im looking for a deep bass sound. i dont want that hollow fire cracker/ bumble bee nipper sound. i like the import exhaust that has deep sound in it. is there anyway for me to hear what one sounds like by mp3? or does anyone know if they can tell me what its like? |

If im not mistaken, the N1 is a straight thru muffler.. with a 4cyl engine it will sound raspy.. You will probly need to get a few resonators on there to reduce that..
Im sure there are a few people here with that particular system.. maybe get them to come to the meet on friday? :)

| apex N1 is very popular amoung dsms w/ straight pipe, nocat. get 3inch if yuou plan to heavily mod your car, otherwise 2.5 will do. |

I have the Apexi N1. It's alright. Nice sound for the turbo applications.
Mine is a catback but has a mid muffler, then the n1 style can at the end. |

I am a big fan of the Apex-i World Sport (WS) series of Cat-backs.
N1's are too loud and they attract cops like a donut shop.
WS systems have an actual muffler on them that integrates a very free flowing design while still eliminating the undesirable frequencies from the exhaust note.
Very refined at idle and cruising speeds, yet delivers a powerful (if you have the power that is) sound at WOT conditions. |

I've got the full Apexi N1 with the resonators still in place on my 2ga eclipse along with my turbo setup, it just purrs. Ask REFLUX, he has heard it. I have never been bothered by a cop because of my exhaust and just until the weather change it got a little bit louder(although its been on the car for 1.5 years). |

I just got one installed... it's louder than my Greddy was for sure. but it's also a 3" full exhaust system. Not raspy at all.

| Is your eclipse NA or turbo cuz if it is turbo then you shouldnt worry about the sound being too loud. I have a GReddy Evo2 on mine and it sounds great. not loud at all. |

| guy i know has a 94 eclipse, has the apexi N1 for turbo applications, and his car isnt turbo'd and IMO it sounds like shit, but i have also heard it on a car that had turbo, n it sounds really good, but this 94 is soo raspy. |

Please dont get a straight thru muffler on an NA car.. It will sound like shit, AND you will LOSE power.. What you gain up high will not be as much as you loose down low. NA engines NEED backpressure...
Besides being less than functional, and loud; you will undoubtibly attract more cops than a krispy kream grand opening sale...
If you must get an N1, get like 2 resonators.. Otherwise all you will hear is raspyness after 3k...
