Got Sponsored!! - Click HERE for Original Thread

SLVRBLU
Hey Everyone

Just thought I would share some of my joy! Well after talking to these boys for a couple weeks SLVRBLU finally got a bodykit sponsor. I am getting sponsored by Aerogear. I'm sure alot of you have heard of them, they make alot of car performance/appearance accessories, but mainly body kits.

I have been awarded a Full Sponsorship from them and will be getting a full sunfire widebody Millennium kit. They only have 2 full kits out for the sunfire, the millennium and the Xplosion. I love the Millennium kit, and I can just picture a nice intercooler down by the opening, I cant wait! The only thing I am not a fan of is the rear. I absolutely hate the rear.

So I am going to ask if I can change the rear to the Xpolsion rear, because I love that rear more than anything. However, if nothing works out, I'm not going to complain because I am recieving an entire ody kit for free and I am very grateful to have gotten this sponsorship.

So basically I pay them the MSRP of the kit ($1300US) and they send me everything, then once the kit is painted and installed (has to be within 30 days) then they refund my money. All the final details get worked out on Monday when I recieve all the sponsorship info by fax.

To see some images, please visit www.aergear.net, they're images are kinda shitty, so you can also check out

and

for better pictures, although they are all still development pictures, they do have a few on there that are all completed. The Sunfire kits just got released, thats why they have minimal pics. Let me know what you think!

I don't mind the front half but the rear flares/back bumper looks kinda clumsy.

Good luck!

SLVRBLU
i hear ya, but i dont think i will be companing lol

Thats sick Dax, let me know if you want/need a hand with the kit...im always happy to be wrenching on cars. Props on the sponsorship though....the 'fire is coming along nicely it seems.

SLVRBLU
hey man im gonna have to get it painted and installed, can u give me a hand with either? lol i dont know how to do either and its gonna cost me 1200 to get er done professionally....

CanadianSkyline
Ya, i wouldnt consider myself good enough yet to tackle the painting....but any installation i know i can do. The reason with painting being that im not 100% at home with knowing how to mix paints and what primers and such to use. I can apply it, i just cant get the gun ready...yet. Installation is straight forward though, let me know if you want a hand.

SLVRBLU
for sure man, i will need to test-fit the kit once it gets here, so i will be calling you for that, but after it gets painted, how do you install a kit? like, how does it mount?

Agent_Oorange
Nice Dax, hope everything goes well for the sponsership for you. I'm just going down to Montana today so I may phone you on the way back up this evening depending on what time I get back across the border (I get searched everytime it never fails haha).

CanadianSkyline
The really good kits...like joe's, will have factory mounting points, and you can use the factory mounting clips. Im guessing this kit doesnt have any holes drilled yet, so in essence, what ive done with the 2 i have installed, is drill holes, and use washers on both sides with nuts and bolts, and use loc-tite. Its worked great for me...either that or zap straps, haha, jk. Im just curious how a professional shop would do it....with the drilling holes method or if there is a better way.

djnoesis
i think it would be better to get the kit painted on the car after its been installed that way the paint wont chip when u put it on i could ask a few ppl and see if i can get it painted for u hit me up with a pm or even just add me to msn if u use it

SLVRBLU
sure man im gonna need paint, how much will it cost me?

whats your email addy? mines dlealke@hotmail.com, add me to MSN using that email addy

CanadianSkyline
djnoesis, it works just as well to test fit the kit...drill all the holes and stuff, and then paint it, then install it, that way the entire kit is painted (not just what the paint can hit) and you dont have to worry about masking the car. Its very difficult to paint a kit fully without hitting some of the fender, etc.

SLVRBLU
tru dat
