| If you get pulled over and for example, they ask you to roll up your window just to see if you have illegal tint, if you refuse, what can they do? What can't they do? |

Why refuse, just say its broken or something.
We used to have a honda that would do that, the window would roll down fine, but it would go off track as soon as you tried to roll it up. :dunno: |

What in specific is stupid about a law against having tinted windows to prevent people from having reduced visibility, thus at a higher risk of a collision with a car or even worse, a pedestrian. Please enlighten me. |

The only thing that is stupid is the way the laws are applied across the country. In some areas tinting your front windows is perfectly acceptable and legal, in others (like here) tinting them will get you a ticket. Is there any difference in the sun in these areas, no, any differences in the speeds, no, any differences in the traffic, no, so its basically discretionary on a local level.
But its a moot point, the law here is no tint up front, so don't put any tint up front, simple. |

To my knowledge, tint on front windows is illegal across Canada. Can anyone PROVE otherwise? |

Its legit if your blackin out the fronts......... but if your using tint near the light end of the spectrum its complete B.S.... my fronts are lighter, cops have no trouble seeing me nor do pedestrians, ect....
Blackout tint... you can't see shit thru at anytime of the day.... so yeah if you get ticketed on that.... suck it up!!
That 30-35grade stuff thats fairly light..... you can make out the distinguishing features of the driver, ect.... if your ticketed on that you deserve to be pissed/angry and wanna refuse...
Just my opinion:) |

| Nobody answered my question. Nevermind all this "if you get caught suck it up" bullshit, I KNOW THAT. Sam was the closest of all (thanks buddy :)) I just want to know what they can LEGALLY DO TO YOU. I don't need a lecture, I just asked a simple question, and I know it's illegal, thank you. |

If you refuse...
Uhh a tickets pretty obvious?!
Or another demand its removed then and there (since refusings a good sign your in the wrong).... and if your a complete bitch to them about it -- an impounded car... |
|
|
| Mekanik22 |
But if your windows are down, they can't give you a ticket because they can't prove it. So do they need authorization to climb into your vehicle and roll up the window even if you don't authorize it?
That was my last question, thanks for your help man. |

im pretty sure if a young person like you or i did that, he would press the button on his own, thinking he is superior or someshit. (if the cop was a prick), or say something like, you were also speeding, do you want to make this worse than it is already.
Jimbo can u pls enlighten us as i would like to know what would happen. |

I'd think they would!?
A buddy did the whole refusing to roll up the window thing to a cop once (he was being a smartass about it tho).... he eventually rolled it up when the cop started getting mad and was threatening to arrest him..
My fronts are tinted, when im pulled over (which has been alot... most times for nothing) they comment on the passengers side tint being illegal. However they never comment on the drivers or ask to see it, since my windows always rolled down all the way before they get to it....
So maybe if they can't physically see any part of the window up close & in person, getting permission or authorization is just a waste of their time...... so they dismiss it :dunno:
*(Isn't the interior of your car like your home... private property. So since tint film is on the interior, they must need authorization to overrule you...)* |
