Z3r03rr0r
the client I have been using as of late is bittornado. Seems nire stable and user friendly then previous clients that I used.

and for you lazy people that refuse to search for things here is a link :P

BitTornado

BananaBoy
Torrentreactor is not bad.

I also us bittornado.

Sorry to hijack a post but I have a noobie question. How do I make a link like you guys?

Z3r03rr0r
to add a url link you click on the http:// button and put what you want to say in hit ok then put in the site address

dogstar
well, i use burst!, great client, nice and smooth, get it here
BURST

mostly just go to suprnova, its the main source for stuff, but i also like these guys
http://torrent.youceff.com/index.php

Helios
A wee bit outdated.. the two sites mentioned are no longer around due to the MPAA. Also, some good current clients are ABC or Azeurus.

droppedatbirth
http://bi-torrent.com

and

torrent spy

the two i've been using alot lately

also btsites.tk for a huge directory of bit torrent sites

SunkistShark
OK I have a few here.
For starters
Isohunt

Torrent Search
Both good torrent search engines.

BOXTORRENT

Torrent Box

XBOX for all

beatshack
the best combo i've used so far is:

www.torrenyspy.com for torrent files

and BitComet for software.

ThinkAboutIt
Bitcomet + TorrentSpy and...

http://www.demonoid.com/

dont know if its closed or not, its a great site signup if you can. Of course the private sites are the best but none of the ones I belong too are currently offering invites. When they are i'll post and try and hook anyone interested up with an invite.

Insomniac
what are good torrent sites? this is a bit old

Kiddo
www.mininova.org

Helios
Hey folks, thought I would let you know of a site that pretty cool. I really like the different coding here. Check it out here.
We are trying to recruit new users after a server change, so its open signup again. :D

Edit: Mention to CSIS that you are from here, and get a custom title, and possibly some ratio addage. (A gift, but not a reason to HnR.)

ColinSiR
what the hell is torrent?:dunno:

Helios
Are you serious? If so, its Bit Torrent, and it is the peer to peer sharing of files.

icydude
torrentit.com

Xpnsve
Nice to see this thread still running

Darkstar
If you can register, www.pisexy.org is one of the better ones I use but like I said it takes a while to register. As for clients I like Azureus but I haven't tried the newer ones.

icydude
utorrent and azureus have now released a new era of bit torrent.

it involves encrypted packets which solves alot of issues with rogers users.

also if you are on rogers dont forget to port forward and use the voip port ie. 1720.

the new era encryption only works between the new torrent programs but enough people are already using them that youwill find speeds better.

BananaBoy
Thanks for the bit about azureus.

Do you know if there is a port we should be using if we're on Shaw or Telus?

icydude
telus doesnt matter......they dont restrict ports as i havent had troubles.

Shaw is a bitch to work around though.
The two new clients help as shaw cant filter out the bit torrent packets.

for a while everyone jumped onto the 1720 voip port as it was unmetered but shaw caught on and fixed that for themselves pretty quick.

you will just have to try and work out what works and what doesnt:rolleyes:

dc2696
ok so I downloaded this utorrent 1.4 and its pretty fast for some things but other things I can't find at all. Like old rock songs and stuff. I used to use imesh 5 but the new one sucks, so can someone tell me how to find this shit or a better program thats not so god dam complicated lol. Thanks

sparkycivic
I couldn't resist:

icydude
hahahaha that was good.

and DC
google stuff with torrent on the end.....
if you cant find it that way then search for specific sites(ie music torrents or movies) and then search the sites.

crazi-85crx
Torrent Harvester is a program that will search through a huge list of torrent sites to give you what you're looking for. Only trick is finding the torrent that'll work best.

-Crazi.

Craddosk
Im having trouble with my BitTorrent. I'm running it on a Mac, and I always seem to get about 1/8th of a way through (after a few hours), and then it will run out of peers and stop. I'm currently running shaw. Anyone have any clue what I might be doing wrong? I'm attemtping to acquire some Top Gear episodes that haven't shown up on google video.

Thanks.

McFly
what torrent app are you running?

Ayeso
Personally I WILL NOT use public torrent sites. They are usually horrible for speeds cause noone has to share. They let anyone know what your downloading via accessing public trackers. And generally have a whole ton of garbage.

I personally only use private invite only torrent sites. You get WAY WAY better speeds, ie. Any file i download usually goes around 800kb/s+ the slow ones are 300-400.

If you get started on one torrent site, share lots ( Yes its mandatory you share on private sites otherwise you get the boot. ) get a good ratio, its super easy to get into any other ones. If anyone wants an invite and WILL share I dont mind giving them out as I have quite a few. But i will keep track of your sharing and have the power to boot my invitees.

Craddosk
I'm running BitTorrent OSX (that's its name), anyone know of any better ones for Apple?

Invalid Zero
www.puretna.com for all your porn torrent needs.

ImporTuner
www.fileporn.org

some good shit:thumbup:

AnimusNovo
Ok, I now use..

UTorrent.com for a bittorrent program

and

Mininova.org for .torrents

Therin
utorrent is great. I kept getting weird incomplete 100% comeplete files (yeah made no sense to me) when using Bitlord.

+1 for utorrent.

Ruiner
utorrent is the ONLY torrent program needed.. No installation and its only 1 single file.

as for sites, scenetorrents.org if you can register there.

Twigs_Dee
for searching, i type what i want in once, and a magic addon for FireFox does the rest... Seachs TONS of torrent sites for myself.... For the addon, just do a search on mozilla for torrent. TorrentFinder should be first one.... im lazy. hehe

PM me and I'll hook you up an invite to a private tracker.

But if you don't seed, and get banned, it reflects negatively on me... and then I get banned as well... And then I'd have to kill you.

little_one_der
Thanks Rob.

This is an open question. I know that when you download a folder and it has, let just say 50 different files, you have to compile them to make the movie right?

Any chance anyone knows what application I should be looking for to use on a Mac?

ptemomo
Are they zipped file? If so, i just unzip them with winrar and it become the 1 video file. If not, i cant help you. Sorry!
