Hmm I was driving my mr2 sc normally no full throttle or anything
im driving at about 80km then all of a sudden.
Engine shuts off all power still works.
I try starting it and just keeps on trying to start but does turn on
What could this be? Engine seized?
Please someone tell me that it could be something else?
Spark plugs? Thats the only thing I can think of. |

| Sounds like an electrical problem, like a sensor or relay. |

| check to see if the timing belt is still there. |

| something exactly like that happen to me in my eclipse 2 weeks ago. The timing belt skipped a few notches but thanks to the crank sensor that broke it didnt damage any of the cylinders. so most likely is is the timing belt. |

yeah, i'd say check your timing belt too........ although mine skipped & damaged the cylinder heads & valves |

the mr2 is not a DSM, they dont have those timing belt problems, i think its something electrical, cant be your spark plugs, cant be wires either unless they all suddenly came off?
something electrical i think, probably nothing serious
check all your wiring, fuses and battery:dunno: |

As socalsupra said -- try checkin out all the fuses, doesn't take much to blow one...
Buddy blew a fuse in his 2003 vw golf...... it was the fuse labelled as controlling the dome light. However it was also controlling the keyless entry remote lock/window/alarm functions, the interior power window controls, some dash lights... and turn signals (i think)
It was all the result of a mini interior trunk light that burnt out..

Most of the time it'll be electrical.
Chances are, if it is electrical, the engine won't even attempt to turn over. But I'm pretty sure if it's something mechanical like a snapped t-belt, the engine will still try to turn over.... |

Ignition module?
Sounds like like a common fiero problem.. the ignition coil heats up and dies.. some people carry spares in their trunk cuz it happens so often.
