STOLEN RED PRELUDE lowered/tinted - Click HERE for Original Thread

bmwboyz
If anyone has seen around the city a 1998 Honda Prelude Red, it has wings west RS body kit on front and sides, but the back has no kit. It is lowered, stock rims, limo tint and a sticker that says "the summit" in white handwriting on the rear window.

If anoyone has seen it Please PM me with where and when etc. and if you can get a liscence plate that would be great.

This car was 'bought' with a phoney check that even the bank took a week to figure out was phoney, so the guy got away with the Prelude and there is nothing that can be done. So Please keep ur eyes open.
Thanks-:(

REFLUX
good luck to the seller
hope things work out :(

I guess this is also a lesson to always have good business practice...sale isn't final until the cheque clears

TofuBoi
thats why u always wait for a certified check.......... and check their id's and stuff... but good luck....... and ask registry and tell them u're vehicles VIN number and have it tracked!

SilviaDrifter
cash is the way to go my friend and i think i may have saw it ummm by skyreach center but i didnt know it was stolen until now....if i see it again i will tell u

TofuBoi
wouldn't the bill of sale considered voided if the other party did not successfully accomplish their side of the contract? aka the money for the car, so it is practically stolen, so they shouldn't be able to register the car

energie
OMG that sucks i keep my eyes open.

most people dont do "cash" deals if you are speaking of giving 17 grand in X amount of bills, as there is no paper trail to it.

Me personally i do it through certified cheque or banque draft, which is just like cash, just u have a paper trail.

bmwboyz
Thanks for the imput guys, hopefully someone sees it....but then again those guys are prob parting it out or something like that. so if anyone sees a lude engine for sale... ya but if i were selling it the person wouldn't get near the car without the money having gone thru 100%, why they let him have it i dont know..but what can ya do

TofuBoi
was there a name on the bill of sale? did u check their ID's?

bmwboyz
The name and all matched the check which was fake and so they have no idea who the guys really are, i thought it was shady from the beginning but they didn't seem to, and now look what happened:dunno:

midnite
do you have a photo you can post, so we can see the bodykit? I'll keep my eyes open.

Will insurance cover this kind of theft?

energie
i doubt insurance will cover it since u kinda gave the guy the keys

bmwboyz
and here comes the stupid part....it wasn't insured ! not even for fire.theft or anything! how dumb is that.... but yah i will get some pics

here is a link, it has the stock rims now thou not the motegi's

http://www.motegiracing.com/gallery...=42&iPic=87

and again does not have rear body kit piece.

mah_hai
money order is the way to go

socalsupra
so they just gave you a plain cheque and all the info was someone elses?

energie
just to clarify things its not bmwboyz, it was his friend.

bmwboyz
It was some sort of a personal cheque that was approved by the bank etc. and then was found out a couple days later to be fraud, so stolen cheques and they had all ID matching for the check etc.

So overall, I would have taken money order or something, or even the 'cash' that they wanted to pay with.

TofuBoi
how was it approved by the bank? there is supposed to be a blue stamp in the middle of the cheque with the bank stamp

If it was approved by the bank it should be their responsibility then :dunno:

bmwboyz
Thats what i said that the bank should be held responsable.....but thru some amazing loophole the bank is NEVER held responsble.
