So as many of you know my Trooper has been being painted for 3 months now as of yesterday. Now it should be out on Tues or Wed, but they have NEVER met a deadline for anything. I was originally told everything would be done in about a month, obviously this is not the case. I ofcourse have a REAL problem with this place right now for them taking so damn long and I will certainly be seeking some sort of compensation for not having the truck for 3 months, but now we have another problem. Last Thurs. they phone and tell me that they need to cut a new key as the key I gave them is getting cracked and in all fairness it is, but I know I've seen a key they obviously had cut before since I only gave them one and about a month ago I started seeing two keys in the car, they inform me that they need to cut another key and it will cost 10 bucks, I told them that I've seen a key int he car they had obviously cut, ths guy then proceeds to tell me they found that key in the car, bullshit asshole I've taken that car apart inside panel by panel and I know I only gave them one key, but whatever I just got fed up arguing with him so fine cut the key it's only 10 dollars (for the amount I'm paying them they really shouldn't worry about 10 dollars). So when I go in on Fri. to check on the car my original key, the new key they cut that day, and the "phantom" key that magically appeared in my car (which is absolutely identical key, brandwise and everything to the key that had cut that day :rolleyes: ) are all sitting on the seat. But here's the kicker the guy tells me that there is a problem with the locks and I'm like WTF? and go try out the keys in the car. My original key works just fine in the ignition and works fine to unlock the doors but you can not lock the doors with it, the key they cut that day works in the ignition but not at all in the doors, and the phantom key doesn't work in anything. OK so I'm thinking he's just gonna tell me that they'll have it fixed on the next business day, boy was I wrong. He proceeds to tell me that I will have to arrange to have a locksmith come in to the shop and fix it, ummm no!!! I say "no no you can arrange to have it fixed" his response? "and you will pay for it?" obviously I said no way I'm paying for it. The locks and ignition worked just fine when I brought it into the shop and they did have to take the doors apart to paint them (and yes absolutely everything came off the door inclduing locks and wiring), so the problem obviously occured while they had the car in their posession, there is no fucking way in hell I'm paying any more to them to fix something they broke, you would think they would understand they are at fault and need to remedy the situation. Not sure what I am going to do but gonna have to think of something because I will most certainly be addressing the owner of the body shop on Tues. about this situaution, then again the owner of this place is an absolute moron and has no idea how to run a business properly, my dad and him had a long "talk" a while ago and my dad was absolutely stunned at how poor of a business man this guy is (my dad is a business man himself).
I don;t want to say which Paint and Body Shop this is until I have my car back in my possession, but I'll let you guys know which shop NOT to go to once I get my car back. And in all fairness the technicians and the work they do are just phenomenol but the management team are a bunch of boneheads.
Sorry about the long rant just needed to vent, I hate these people and will probably pay them the remaining balance in bundles of $5 bills ahahah that is if I pay them the rest at all. |

| THE TROOPER IS FINALLY DONE!!! Went to the shop today to take a look at it, everything finished and it has been fully detailed, just waiting for one small linear actuator for one of the power door locks which should be here tommorow (was supposed to be here today but it does have to come from Japan so I'll cut them some slack), then they put the panel back on that one door and I'm going to pick it up. So excited!! :D :D :D :D |
