Finally pulled the Trooper out of the shop yesterday :D Here's a couple shitty pictures it was really cloudy:
Now she's having some major power problems, as in horsepower. So I pulled the engine apart this morning, yeah only 3 of the 6 cylinders are firing, the right hand bank of cyclinders is really screwed, most likely a cracked head, coolant is filling the spark plug wells, so I'll be taking the head of tommorow to check it out. Might have to do the big block engine swap earlier then planned ;-) Oh yeah I've also started to wetsand the exhaust pipes so they have a mirror like finsih, looks just tight, the paint looks even more amazing and very prismatic up close and especially in the sun. |

| The exhuast looks kinda weird becuase the only place I could hange the mufflers was pretty much right next to where the exhuast pipes exit on the side of the vehicle and so the pipes had to be bent to come back up toward the front of the vehicle and then bent back to exit closer towards the rear wheel. Kinda hard to describe, but in the end there was a piece of the frame in the way thus it's bent like it is ;) That's just the raw steel in those pics too, I'll finish wetsanding and polishing the pipes today and put some pics up. As for engine mods, not much done besides intake (only cuase I threw another battery up front where the stock intake was) and exhuast (dual Flowtech Warlock mufflers one on each bank of cylinders, they have a cap that can be taken off as to make it a straight pipe where the exhuast gases completely bypass the muffler but that is waayyy to loud). Would have done more to the engine but I plan on doing the engine swap next year so not really any point. Mods for the rest of the car are pretty much just stereo shit: Clarion flip up monitor head unit, Pioneer 7300 head unit (handles all audio), 6 disc DVD changer, 6 disc CD changer, 2 Rockford 1001.bd amps (modified to put out about 1,300w RMS a piece), 4 pioneer 10" subs (dominated DB Drag last year with these little bitchs, can be pushed really far ;-), Focal Utopia 6.5" component set (blew the tweeters though so stock shit is back in for now :( ) 2 Sting 1 farad digital caps, 2 1000A batteries (1/0awg wire). Probably more done to the car and stereo but I can;t remember. Planned for the next month or two: rebuild the amp rack and sub box for a more show look, and recover the seats with Gucci and Sueude and throw a couple monitors in the headrests. |

Looks so much better with polished exhaust pipes rather then that bare steel shit :D Not completely satisfied with the level of polish on it yet but no one has any 2,000 grit sandpaper in so I'll live with my 1,500grit polish for now.

| SHIIIITTTTT!!!! New Cylinder head for my engine (unfortunately it has to be form the same year) has a lead time of 21 months. Yes months!!! Just waiting for insurance dude to phone me back, since this has only occcured since I had the accident. Might have to write off the truck (cost looks to be well over $5g for the new head, damn Isuzu) and buy it back, pull the engine out, put the big block in (if it'll fit, might have to go small block), and buy another truck for winter while doing the enigne swap, that is if insurance will let me do the whole write off buy back thing if they even want to write it off.   |

| shit kid, the good news is followed with bad, shitty man wtf |

Yeah still waiting for the insurance dude to get back to me but we'll see what happens, it's going into Hyatt Wed. morning to get confirmation on the cracked head (veryone I talked to so fa thinks thats the problem). So the Trooper may be out for a little while but at least it's in my garage this time. I may just be able to find a really good condition 3.2l or 3.5l Isuzu engine and dump that in it for now since at least it bolts right up, and is obviously a lot less work then doing the GM engine swap, at least right now, although that would make a tight winter project :D
Oh and jsut to add the Trooper does still run, just shittily, with only 3 cylinders running (most of the time, the other bank likes to kick in at random times), it's like driving a 4500lb vehicle with a geo metro engine in it, so no stopping on hills haha. |

| lol well you'd be stupid not to try lol |

AAAAHHHHH might have the Trooper for the show this weekend :D
The boys at Hyatt Saturn Saab Isuzu said they can't find a crack anywhere in the head (there is a bit oil in 2 of the cylinders but the piston rings don't really replacing yet), and they said the rough idiling is due to some gasket problems so every gasket on the engine is being replaced tommorow, new plugs and wires going in as well. Apparantly the coolant in the spark plug wells is actually mostly water (probably some asshole used a high pressure hose to 'clean' my engine when I had the thing painted). Total bill is around $2,700 so that doesn't quite justify me buying a new engine just yet (that's good news and bad news lol). So if I get it back tommorow or the day after I have a day or two to rebuild the sub box and amp rack (and find a drain on my electrical system that is hiding somewhere in the audio systems wiring :D |

oh man sorry to hear about the motor
yeah i just finally got my motor back together after finding out that the owners friend who help build the motor up didnt torque down the head so it pretty much screwed up the head gasket and then after i finally got it all together i went to dump some coolant in it and it started leaking everywhere to only find out i need a new upper water neck for my car |

Just about to go pick up my car from getting serviced, damn well better be running fine now ;-)
That story sounds almost exactly like what happened to Dax.
Oh and Dax if you read this, I'll be in Edmonton later tonight with the Trooper so give me a call tommorow or tonight and cut the instinct banner for my car and bring it to SCC if you are still going. Later boys. |
