Hey...I'm looking for any sites, or any info about how to get a CRF450 prepped and ready for the street. My plans are to use a supermoto conversion kit on it (17" wheels, street rubber, bigger front brake, and lights), but I need to know what kind of stuff is legal, and what isn't. Do all the lights have to be DOT approved, or can I use basic Lockhart flushmounts? What's the deal with noise restrictions....will I need a silencer for it, where can I get that tested, etc. Any help would be much appreciated...Thanks!

Hello DooD;

Pretty much everything you need to know is in the Vehicle Equipment Regulations. Stuff like colour of lights & specifications for lights are generalized for all vehicles but there are certain items that apply specifically to bikes. Nothing really says how big the lights have to be but there is a requirement for colour & whether or not they can be seen from certain distances ... all within the Act. Here's some really exciting bathroom reading material for you!!
