Well, firstly I'd like to thank everyone that came out to support the event, whether you were a competitor or a spectator.

The weather was fair, cool with scattered cloud & sunny periods. Atleast there was no rain (or snow)...

I'd like to give a special thanks to BB6SE (Rob) and luder (Steve) for drag racing. If you want to know their ETA's, you'll have to ask them yourselves.

I'd also like to thank mike3 (Mike), IDTrav (Travis) and 2ndgenlude (Tyler) for coming out to show & representing the club. 1_Bar (Chris) and buh_buh (Kevin) where in attendance but not with the EPC :dunno:

With a turn out much less than I was anticipating, we were unable to take the "best show team" award. However, I managed to get the "best prelude" award, partly because ManHunter (Eric) wasn't in attendance with his car...

All in all, it was a good event and was a great closer to the year.

i want E.T. times

ManHunter
When I left, buh_buh's best time was 14.0.

buh_buh needs to learn how to launch... His car should be able to dip well into the 13's. His trap speeds are pretty good from what I heard.

(I'm only posting this because he doesn't have internet until next week so he can't defend himself hehehe).

Shady_Pro
ya to tell u the truth no offence toi him or whatever i opinion doesn't really matter but it didn't seem like his launchs were soild at all he would drop the clutch hard for a burn out up to the line and that looked like it had more power then when he took of the line....like hes dropping it way to low i donno

Shady_Pro
btw best in show went to the canadian tire focus

What was is trap speed?

blown_mr2
I don't understand how the Edmonton Prelude Club could have such a big showing in Calgary, and next to nothing in our own back yard.

:dunno:

Still nice to see a few familiar faces in the club though.

Hahhaa....yes, buh_buh also needs LSD to get more power down as well. So much wheel hop in his car.

In addition, his 18 bling wheels don't help much....hehehe.

BTW Mr. Rage, why didn't you bring the porche down (or rather up)??

In defense of the driver of the turbo Lude, its really hard to modulate power in a car like that, especially on street tires which I give him credit for using. He would give her off the line in first and roast em all the way to the limiter and do the same in second, so it is definately not driver error, its just too much power overwhelming the tires.

IDTrav
that lude was one of my favourite cars there :D

buh_buh knows that I'm just playing w/ him as per usual. With a good set of tires on some smaller/lighter rims, his car would break 14s no problem...I've been in his car and man, wheel hop gallore!!

ManHunter
Isn't wheel hop a symptom of a suspension setup problem?

I wish my car would do 14.0 :D

You wish your car was running, j/k. I can't wait until the day that your engine break-in period is finally over, increase the boost and give me one hell of a ride :D

With regards to buh-buh, I think it was a multitude of different things. Slow reaction time but also a cold track doesn't help much. If you noticed a lot of the other drivers, they were feathering the gas to almost 3 gear in the attempt to keep traction. With him having 18" street tires on, that is also a hinderence...

rage2
Too much power... I should detune his car ;).

He should've bought the AVC-R instead of the E-01... gear based boost setting, ghetto traction control. It's what I use to get good launches on street tires. On his car, full boost in 1st is next to impossible to modulate.

Kevin was running 105mph trap speeds up in edmonton. He ran 107mph down in Calgary, the lower trap speed I'm guessing from lower boost because there's only 92 octane up in Edmonton.

Perhaps I should ask you to help ME sometime with my AVC-R settings.

I was in the Dominican Republic, surviving the Hurricane :). I was one of the lucky ones, stuck for a few days but got home Sunday morning.

Its can be also be due to the fact that the tires can't grab as much since there is too much power, so it spudders. Or you can just stiffen up the rear so much that you don't get weight transfer when you launch hard....

Ah, I see. That would explain it. Its good to hear that you made it back ok.
