With a few of you that have recently become interested in racing (drag/auto-x), I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a group buy for racing helmets.
Having your own helmet would eliviate you from renting a helmet at the track for $10 a pop.
Anyways, the one that I'm looking at is the RCI Snell SA-2000 or M-2000. Check out the RCI website for more information.

RCI Snell SA-2000 $215.00
If there is enough people interested, I can look into getting a GB price.

I like the SA-2000, it's more of a bike style helmet. The M-2000 is more of a go-karting helmet (ugly).
There isn't many other options if you want a decent priced helmet and I'm not one to go spend $400+ on a helmet that I'll barely use... |

| i don't know if you can still get these, but last year I got a M-2000 approved helmet from albertacycle for $50, full-face, it was either M-2000 or SA-2000 whichever is the lesser, it was just plain red but for $50? |

Or you can go check out ALberta Cycle or any other Bike shops around and get a stylish helmet for around $200-300 that is Snell approved to match your car.
I paid $189 for mine and its a HJC and for those of you who've seen it know its a damn nice helmet. |

Do you have another source that can get the HJC helmets?
I might just wait till spring and get them from Alberta Cycle. I'm pretty sure they can get HJC helmets... |

How about we wait until spring and bring this back on topic.
There really is no point in getting a helmet now and perhaps once the racing season starts more people would be interested in getting their own helmet... |
