To replace a fuel line that goes to the top of the fuel filter?

this is a pic of the one on my NA.

This is the last thing i need, to get the car running.

Heeter
Yeah, Wesam,

You have to buy the fuel line connector remover kit, found anywhere. It comes with different fittings to fit all diameters of coupling. The one I bought years ago cost me $10 for 5 fittings. What you dealing with is basically a pressure fitting, spring loaded.

Hope this helps.

BTW, you camera work is nicer. Not as cold in the garage today?

HAHA man, the work is still shitty, just when im takin pics of hot mr2's (Robs and JPs lol) I can take good pics.

Thanks alot for the help Helder. It was puzzling me, it seemed very weird to remove.

Thanks again.

Hi W,

Wrap the fitting that you bought over the fuel line coupling and press together until both sides of fitting snap together, then push the pin into the side until the the fuel line comes apart.

I hope you understand the way I wrote it.

hmm still having troule.

just to clarify the tool looks liek this correct?

Thanks Helder.

Wesam

Heeter
Yep,

Those are the ones,

slide the one that fits over the steel end of your line. Next, slide the tool up against the fuel line coupling, apply pressure on the tool towards the fuel line coupling while pulling on the the steel side. Should come apart from one another now. This will lift and release the pins that clamp down on the steel side of the fitting.

Sorry, but I hope I don't confuse you with my explaination.

BTW Wesam,

How much did that kit set you back? I bought mine about twelve-fifteen years ago when those fuel line fittings first came out. Just like to know the price difference from then and now.

Helder

Hey thanks alot Helder, but im still confused as hell, it doesnt wanna do it.

It cost me i believe 18 dollars.

Do you happen to have a camera, and show me how its done lol?

Thanks alot.

Hiya Wesam,

Gone to work all day, sorry for no response.

Anyways, I don't have a cam. I don't know how else to explain it. That is how I did it a few times, on american cars, though. Is it rusty? maybe hose it down with "LooseNut" or something. In your original pic, that is the steel line from the tank to the filter? Or is it the one from the filter to the rail? Isn't those ones from rail to filter one piece units, like power steering hoses, the coupling is pressed on? It doesn't look like one of those on your pic though.

Helder

Ya some people are telling me its one unit, and Im going to have to upgrade, and or replace the whole unit.

Thanks for your help Helder.

Wesam

Heeter
I am sorry, Wesam.

I automatically assumed it was the tank to filter section that you talking about. Those connectors do come apart and they do somewhat look like the photo that you have up. If it is a one piece unit take the old one to Partsource, they have the tools to press on couplings, they can custom build you one for waaay cheaper than buying a new one from a dealer. They make power steering hoses while you wait, it should be the same for fuel lines.

Helder.

stealth
Hey no worries man thanks alot for your help.

Wesam
