Yup. I think they look good. I just did it while I wait for the rest of my front end parts. I need to move them down alittle more though for even more of a sleepy eye look.

k_mac501

Mekanik22

They are acually 3" fog lights on brackets inside the light. I took the stock light all out and apart and we welded the brackets in there. There is no covering. I painted it flat black because I didn't want to have to deal with the trimming that came around the stock headlight. I'll put a picture up of the pieces all seperate.

pop ups used to have sealed beam square units, hey?

how do they hook up power wise? any adapters or power regulators?

i have the same lights as you used to have, if i could get some manner of bezel fabricated to frame the new round units i'd like to do something similar... other options are an H4 conversion on the sealed beams, or a full euro-spec H4 unit. damn US market cars.

btw, i like how you're doing all your work youself in the garage. i've stripped out my interior as well, but lack any kind of shelter for storage, maybe a tent garage

Yeah, they used to be sealed square ugly lights. They hook up nice and easy. The stock wiring was 3 wires I believe. I forget how it's setup but it'll go nice and easy into the stock wiring. I'm going to have the outside lights as my low beams, then for high beams, all 4 lights will be lit up at once which will be hella bright!

Are you re-doing your interior as well? I still need the cars inside painted, dynamat the inside, pre-wire the inside for the stereo, and my interior will be ready in less then a week. I'll post pics up. Thats the only thing I'm not doing myself, is the interior. And the body work due to lack of tools and experience in that aspect of things.

yeah, the interior is something i wanted to swap out.... it was a dark red fabric in a silver car, and the light cream-grey headliner is sagging... when i removed the rear seats i found tons of pine needles and plastic trinkets.

so the plan is to replace the red interior with 'edwardian grey' panels, of which i have all the door/side ones installed. i've removed the carpets and the foam/tar sound mats, and have begun to chip away the layered material on the floorpan, as it was damp on the passenger side.

once thats' done i'll seal the floorpan from the inside, then i've to decide what next... thinking truck bed liner with a few metal plates and weather mats, or i could put grey carpets in the front on top ofa new layer of said 'dynamat'.

the back bench and seatbelts are going to stay removed, i'll build and carpet an enclosure where the bench was to fit the battery, and maybe and amp and a sub. if it works out ok, it should be flush with or slightly stepped up from the floor of the trunk (it's a 2 dr. hatch). after i redo the headliner a roll bar will be installed, an then some buckets up front.

but the engine is the first thing to get attention. i'll do what i can, likely get the exterior bodywork and repaint done by a shop. that and suspension alignment.

That where I got the idea from, but that website wanted like $1200 for the conversion kit. So I said fuck that and made my own....
