 that is just fu*kin wild :omg: hmmmmmm 4xturbo on a chivik would be fun to do too

energie
holy moly thats cool

Bucktown
that is retarded.....
but cool :)

Mavrick
so, where's the power? 730 hp is something you should be able to accomplish with an LS1 with a single turbo, or quite easily with two. So the other six are just there to make the pipes get red faster.

Obviously it is more cosmetic than anything else. Definitely looks different, though.

I remember seeing pics of this in the development stages, and even then, it was undoubtedly the stupidest thing I've ever seen. 700cc's blowing a single turbo of that size is so pointless. Could you imagine the lag? You'd need to hit 6 grand to boost it.

Definatly looks cool, but it's one of the first things you learn not to do when thinking of turbo options.

ChromeDragon
Kinda cool, but the fabbing is nothing special.

Now Troy Trepanier's "Chicayne , that is something to behold!

Can you say 1100hp and 17mpg?

If it was 700cc you would be right but its 700 ci.
Also if the turbo's are small enough it will spool.

Insomniac
it's an LS1

Sorry, wrong. It's no 700ci. That would be an 11.4L. As it stands now, the biggest factory crate motor you can get is chevy's 572, which isn't this. I was saying with a 5.7L (LS1) each cylinder has a monster displacement of 712cc's. Again, try turning a turbine of that size with 700cc's. It's not going to happen.

It's tough to tell from the pictures, but it actually looks like the exhaust routes through 2 turbos inline. This would use the same exhaust to power 2 seperate turbos for creation of boost. I'm not quite sure how this would cause the car to perform, but it seems like it would make more sense than trying to run 1 turbo off of each cylinder seperately.:dunno:

Insomniac
The website it has torque peak of 5000 rpm. IIRC. Doesn't perform well, it's a showpiece i guess.

I see what you mean. It looks as though all the ehhaust pours into one line, per bank, then splits into four, each side. But you still get figures like 712cc's of displacement boosting each turbo. To put that in perspective, my TC uses 2300cc's to run a smaller turbine, and still lags to 3G. It still takes more money than brains. Now if he had done this with small turbo's, like on the boosted crotch rockets from the 80's, the engine would be much more usefull. Like the Yamaha Seca Turbo that ran a 650cc. Still far too much money and work for what it's worth. (could you imagine maintenance costs?)

Well something tells me that car isn't sloughing its way through Utah winters. That car is pure trailer queen.

oldraven
Yeah, no doubt. It was probably never meant to make usefull boost, just look purdy.
