finally after months of searching ive tracked down a brand new set of weber carbs. They were just sitting in a box at a shop on the southside just waiting for a new home :D
Ive gotta go to EC Automotive tomorow and see what they can do for machine work on it cuz i'll be boring it out to a 2.0L, lightened flywheel, etc. Still need to find a good price on an ACT clutch (heard too many bad things about the dual friction) any ideas where to go for that?

In case you guys were wandering what kind of power these bad boys put out, heres a little blurb a guy from preludepower wrote that is helping me with everything (he has been building these cars for 7 years, has 4 of them - 1 of which is pushing close to 250HP - all motor!!! )

"Power figures for a new build engine with good headwork, 285 cam, weber 45's, exhaust 2.25" with header should be around 180-190bhp with good torque figures as well roughly 160-170ft-lb.
Same engine with a 270 duration cam is about 170-180bhp with powerband of 3-7K with a very good dose of torque as well."

i can't see my car hitting that high, would be nice but im shooting for 160 range that way i won't be disappointed :)

ive got the side skirts at my house so i can fix where the doors sagged and ripped the paint off. hood is up against my wall awaiting touch-ups and protecting my room from goblins :dunno:

only a few more things then this bitch is out! check out my engine - ever seen one that filthy haha? over an inch of sludge built up, gonna tow it over to hughes this weekend and giver' a nice bath :blue:

Looks like your making some decent progress Travis. Keep us posted on the build-up.

As for the clutch, get in touch with Blaine over at Pro Drag Performance. He should be able to give you a competive price...

definetly, dylan needs a clutch too but he is pretty adament that the dual friction is good enough for us. says they sell tons of those clutches and have yet to have one come back :dunno: .

If you want to set-up a group buy on clutches, start a post and get an idea on how many people are interested and what clutch each person wants.

Then, contact our affiliates to determine who can give the best deal. I would recommend Blaine @ Pro Drag, James @ PE Tuning, Paolo @ Invision Imports, and even David @ Garage Works...

If you need help or assistance in getting pricing, just let me know and I can make some phone calls...

act isn't pooh but unless your running 400hp with boost or a 350 sb with a super chargerr u will not burn out a dual friction ... i don't see ne preludes around here doing that:dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

buh_buh
I would highly recommend an ACT clutch.
I burned out a Clutchmasters stage 3 in less than a year and I didn't even hammer on it that much. I got an ACT 6 puck in there now, and I absolutely love it.

if youre serious about doing it and all goes well with mine then just lemme know. I found a rebuild kit for our cars for around $500 (everything cept rods) Providing your block is ok then all you'll need is some minor machine work to get it skimmed or whatever else they have to. start saving up

2ndgenlude
ya im serious, and 500 is a very tempting price...plus machining of course
