Got a stunting ticket. Wondering how it will affect my insurance? I am going to fight it and hopefully get it taken off.
Anybody else gotten a stunting ticket before? Do those POINTS people work at all...the ones that help you fight the ticket?

| Well what kind of "stunting" were you doing? My friend got one for over $500 and he went and fought it, but all he got was his demerits taken off and the ticket slashed by a lot. He did a small burn out on Canada Day. Good luck with the ticket. |

I was pulling a U-turn. At the end of the turn, I spun the tires a bit.
Did you're buddy fight it himself, or did he hire someone? |

Spun the tires a bit? How much is a bit? My narrow winter tires spin just letting out the clutch for Jeebus' sake, and forget about going around a corner under power without a little slide. :blink:
Stunting is a major ticket, call Pointts and fight that thing. |

I called Points the other day and they want $350 and can't gaurantee nothing. I will def. call Got a Ticket Fight a Ticket. Hopefully they will be able to help me. Thanks Ralphie. |

| They can't guarantee anything but its almost guaranteed that they will beat that ticket. I got a stunting a year and a bit back and I called the guys at Pointts, they said they couldn't guarantee that they could beat the ticket but the guy said stunting was an easy one to beat and they almost always beat them before it comes to a hearing. |

if you dont fight it you will go up five steps on the insurance chart... that will cost you %40 more for insurance. next year
stunting is the same as impaired now and if you do go up 5 steps it will take you 5 years to come down to the rate that you are at right now.
good luck but a u turn is illegal so on what grounds can you fight this? |

Say what? So long as you undertake a u-turn within an urban area at an unsignalized intersection that doesn't have signs prohibiting the manuever, it's perfectly legal.
Side note: In rural areas, it's perfectly legal to undertake u-turns anywhere, so long as it's not done in a curve.
The only caveat to both urban or rural u-turns is that it must be safe to do so as well as meeting the locational restrictions. |

Yeah, I really hope I get this ticket taken off....scared of the damn insurance.
As long as it is safe to do so, you can pull a U-turn. There were no cars around at all, but this damn cop on a motorbike came out of nowhere!
I pulled my U-turn and then swung my tail end out. I hope there is something that can be said to help get it off. Any tips???!! |

This is all irrelevant because your ticket was for stunting - which was most likely because you spun the tires doing the U-Turn.
If he was giving you a ticket for an illegal U-Turn, it wouldn't be stunting. |
