| im currently looking at a fourth gen lude with 4ws and an h23. anyone had trouble with the 4ws? is it reliable and how much better does it handle? or should i just go with an srv? also considering i want to turbo the car. damn decisions |

| 4ws is not worth the money. definatly get the SRV over the SR 4ws. Ive had nothing but problems with mine since i got it. its basic purpose is for tight parking and easier lane changes at high speeds. doesnt really do anything in terms of handling in any other situation. but for turbo i am told H23 is much better suited for turbo so if your going turbo you would save alot more money just buying an h23. but then you lose the vtec and the luxury of the srv |

Well im the proud owner of 2 4WS preludes a 3rd gen and 4th. My 3rd hastn had anyproblems since ive owned it. My 4th on the other hand had minor problems but that was direectly related to my VSS which i changed out and that remmedied the problem.
4WS is nice to have cornering is very tight and parking is remarkably easier, esspically parrellel.
When you buy a SR4WS you have the option to put and h22 into the car. With an SRV you dont have the 4WS option.
But when your 4WS breaks down it can be very costly. But in that case you can just dissconnect the 4WS.
My $.02 |

Taking it out will be a serious pain in the ass!! That rear rack and pininon is a going to mess you up. Just have a look at the rear assembly and compare it to one with out 4ws.
If it bothers you that much just pull out the 4ws fuse and dissengage it. The weight is really insignificant to the vehicle. between 50-100lbs.
But if you do part it im sure they'll be lots of ppl looking for that 4ws ECU |

| well id rather just fix it but i have no idea what is fuckin it up..all the wiring seems fine all the fuses are fine.. it fucked up after i was broken into. so they either did something to the computer or shorted something out when they took my deck.. |
