| I was just wondering if any of you had any idea what cars would be in this years game besides the obvious ones (eg. civis, supra, teg type R,...). They missed out on including some sweet cars in the first version such as the 300 ZX, Mr2, and 3000GT. |

| i woudl rather save my cash for gt4....and the online one after christmas....ive pwnt nfsu1 i got like over 100k for one line in the drift challange...just stay in 2nd gear...to easy....and i hate the "ricer respect"...its bs...its like all about ricers.....i was disapointed. |

| What a view to have coming from someone that has there ride listed as a bicycle.. I personally I can say that everyone has a inner ricer.. the people that have a JDM look to there cars more likley just don't have the money to work on there cars exterior the same way. If you ask someone if they would rather have a car that looks stock on the outside and is fast, or have a car that looks fast on the outside and is.. and they say that they would rather have the stock outside.. They are lieing. |

| yes nfsu is a ricer game if u want a real hardcore street racer....go for the tokyo xtreme Series, its freaking awsome |

| I have a body kit, altezzas, aftermaket headlights, wheels, a mother exhaust. I own a alluminum wing but never put it on the car. don't worry I have no problem with my inner ricer. All though, I am also of the opinion that if your car is going to look extreamly aggressive you better have something to back it up. Its all about balance. I still have more respect for a fast car then I do a pretty one. |

| Does anyone know if the honda cars made it into the game.. Because if they didn't my intrest in buying it goes down a lot. |

| according to Best Buy's flyer this weekend they said they would have a one day special price when it comes out on the 17th for $54.99. |
| Jord@n |
| According to the website it's released on the 16th. But sometimes stores carry them a day or two later :dunno: |
| Mustard |
release date is the day it's released from distributers...and put on a truck. Rarely are games in the store the same day, though it does happen...RARELY! :p
allow AT LEAST one day for shipping, 90% of the time you will see games on shelves the next day. |
| Jord@n |
Don't stores usually have the product in stock a few days before the official release date?
I thought that a games release date ( Nov. 16th for example) meant that that was the day when the store could start selling the game, but that the game was sent to the store earlier then that. I have no idea though :dunno: |
| Mustard |
no, it's very rare that stores get game before release dates.
Obviously the fear being that they would sell the game early.
We've only had two games early the entire time our store as open. GTA Vice City, one day early... and Halo 2 was 3 days early.
But both came with massive warnings that if it was ever found out a copy was played in, or even left the store before the release date, there was a $10,000 fine and $2,000 surplus for every copy.
Companies like Nintendo have shipping down to science, however, and know exaclty how long it takes to get games to certain places such that it arrives exactly on the release date. This is partially because nintendo doesn't use distributers like everyone else, they sell direct from nintendo.
But no, the games do not arrive early they are released from distributers on the date, then sent out.
In some cases, stores that are located nearby distibuters, owners just drive over and pick up their stock on the day, which works well for them as they don't need to have fedex or purolator in the loop... which sometimes gives them the EDGE to sell earlier.
anyways, now you know :) |

| I just read the review of the game in Playstation mag, from what it says here. When you first start off in the game you have to choices.. 1 is to get ready to loose a LOT of races, 2 would be to race as dirty as possiable and run people off the road. The reason of it is that at first you don't have a car that can compete with the cars in the tuner community. I find that really interesting. It makes the game seem a lot more realistic. |
| Jord@n |
| I'd rather to have to be a dirty racer and have to compete hard to win, then to just win easily. It's definetely less realistic considering your car is pretty much stock at the start of the game. I remember in the first version when you started the races were sooo easy it wasn't funny. If you crashed 5 times you would still win. |

| I wish the story wasn't made up of a bunch of still shots. Would it be that difficult to have a moving Brooke Burke? It's kind of comic book style with all the still frames. Oh and why did they have to get rid of the Type R and S 2000? |

they didn't wanna have to fork out the extra cash inorder to get the licencing rights to those cars. they spent to much with all audis so something had to get cut. type-r or tt hrmmmmmm? and 3000gt or s2000? personally i'd take the 3000gt, the s2000 was kinda slow in the last game and i never really liked it but the type r or tt is a tuff call. |

Well, I am at 28% complete.. There are millions of races in this game.. or at least it seems that way.. I have a AE86. EM1, and DC5 now.. I have a 4th spot open I am thinking maybe a FD3s..
Or I could just buy a H2 and bling the shit out of it.. I am starting to get to the point in the game where I have a bit of extra money for just a show car. |
| Jord@n |
Wow...I bought this game and I am regretting it already. Obviously not because it's a bad game, it's the best racing game I have played in awhile. But today I have 2 tests and I studied a total of 1 hour last night because I was playing all night.
Right now I am driving a Focus ZX3. I just recently unlocked the tiburon but I think I'll just stick with my ZX3 until I get something I really wanna mod. I really enjoy the game and I find it fun just driving around the city. I thought I would never unlock any cars though and it seemed like I did a million races.
My favourite new mod is the hydrolics, now my car can bounce snoop dogg style.:p
Post up your guys thoughts of game and what your driving/mods. |

i'm liking this game.
IT just needs to be enjoyed for what it is.
Suspend every elite tuner thought in your head and just have fun with it.
If nothing else you can build the riciest peice of shit car you've ever seen and have fun trashing it... :P Relases some anger quite well  |

| i'm 50% done the game and i'm sick of it allready, its just getting so reptative. drive to the photo op, drive 1/2 way across the city to take the photo, take part in 50 races untill the contract is up. blah blah blah. the 'underground racing leauge' is trying to make the grand turismo like but its so easy to win the races by about 2-3 seconds. the only good thing about this game is it lets me dream about the cars that i want. i've got a 240 drift machine and a pretty nice g35. |

I agree with you on that. The more I play it the more repetitive it becomes. I still like it a lot though. I wanna try to get the higher up cars but so many races to do. Plus I wanna try to get all the cool mod's :D |

Personally I like the game for the ricing of the cars, not really the racing.. there are times in this game where I am in front by a couple second and then on the last turn for some reason there just happens to be a delivery van directly in the racing line.. and I end up launching my RSX 6 stories in the air.. Anyone know if there is a point to the outrun races or are they just there for something to do ?
I hate the street X races.. I have been avoiding them... its going to suck if there comes a point where I have to do them. |
| Mustard |
your gonna eventually have to do everything, i suppose, might as well suck them up every once in a while, rather then having nothing but X events when you've got everything else done.
The outrun stuff is for respect mostly, getting that meter up, and simple small cash. |
| energie |
| i hate URLs i'm trying to do this one where its 6 laps, i'm in the lead the whole time except the final lap then they all catch up and beat me its pissing me off. |

| URL's rule, lots of money and new cars after you win them. |

turn off the auto catch up.
right now i'm driving a 240 as my drift/auto x car stage 3 everything except stage 3 turbo cuz it takes to long to spool up and the power isn't really needed. supra as my drag car, stage 3 everything, and a 3000gt as my circut/sprint/url car. don't bother using the fd when you unlock it, its a piece of shit and isn't fast at all just take it as your free car from a sponsor when you do unlock it so you don't waste your money. |
| energie |
| holy crap i can turn off auto catch up? cool. |
| Nightstalker |
| If you return your car to stock (there is a option in each shop) do you get your money back.. I am to lazy to go check right now.. I have been working on the real car so the riceing,.. I mean racing has been on the back burner. |
| DomesticDrifter |
| so i've unlocked 100% of the parts but there is still like 40% of the game left and its just getting tedious, but its fun to go total a riced out car. |
| DelSoln |
| I heard that the outrun races were to obtain unique upgrades. Not too sure if this was only for the PC version though. Anyone know if this is the case for the PS2?? |
| DomesticDrifter |
| i haven't unlocked any unique upgrades yet, maybe some unique vinals but my car doesn't have any stickers or anything on it i wouldn't really know. i'm 70% done the game (pc version). i hasn't seemed like there is any advantage to buying a different car then the one i started with. my "drag" car isn't much faster then the "drift" or "circut" car. |
| Jord@n |
I have been playing this game since Thursday. I play a good 2-4 hours a day right now. I am about 30% done the game. As for upgrades I have 70% of them.
To unlock the unique vinyls and custom vinyls you need to get to the 4th area (sorry forget the name).
I think I am not doing enough of the "regular" races. I just do the "X" races and the URL's to get new cars and finish my contract.
I just got the 350Z and saved up 19000 for performance mods to it but it's still stock exterior. What you guys driving? |
| Nightstalker |
| I kinda gave up on my hondas and spent some money on the GTO.. the car sounds amazing.. and I used JR for the "turbo" and it sure sounds like its supercharged.. it seems to have a bypass valve or whatever you call it when you have something like a BOV but for a supercharger ? Just based on sound its by far my favorite.. But I still use the RSX to win track races. |
| WookeysRX7 |
| ok i have a problem. I currently have a Supra, Celica and an IS300 all modded and there are no races left? Like Im still on stage 2 but i can't find any races, not even in the World Map Option. All the secret shops are found and everything else. WTF? |
| Jord@n |
I've never had this problem, there are always tons of races left. I am in stage 3 and am driving a 350Z, quite an ugly one at that. I just got it and dropped 18000 in performance mods and ran out of money.
Anyway back to your topic, usually for each sponsor they require you do specific races of their choosing, URL's, and a number of races of your choosing to complete the contract, and then you will be available to recieve a new sponsorship. So in answer to your question, if there are no races showing on your map to set your GPS to then try finding "hidden races". These are races that aren't shown on your map but are just found throughout the map by driving around. I find it strange that you have no races on your map and maybe thats a glitch but try finding hidden races and if you can do mag shoots/dvd covers.
Hope that helps,
Jordan |

when u say modded did u buy all that exterior/interior upgrades make sure ur car is up on its star rating. The same thing happened to me i just bought everything availiable then more races appeared.
When the hell do i get stage 3 stuff, i'm getting killed right now. I finally got the Skyline. |

When you open new areas you get tons of upgrades for finding new shops. |
| DomesticDrifter |
| the skyline isn't even the fastest car in the game! gear your properly to make it faster. i've got my circut car set up so as soon as it hits 4th it pulls like mad because you're barley in any gear lower then that. easy way to get more NO2 is before the race starts hit the nitrous button to perge the system and it will give you style points and up the amount you have avalable. |
| energie |
| alright, something is screwed, i finished the game and still some stage 3 stuff isn't unlocked, there aren't anymore races, just those random people on the street. |
| DomesticDrifter |
| i ran into the same thing, the only thing i haven't unlocked is widebody kits in career mode but they are unlocked in quick race mode. i think it has something to do the amount of reputation points you get in career mode, the more rep points the more parts unlocked? |
| Nightstalker |
| You likley have not recived enuff style points to unlock them. its not just about winning, its about winning with style  |
| DomesticDrifter |
| style! you mean rice! the game was to easy, i won the last race by like 15 seconds. the plot could have been 100x better. oh well it was fun for awhile. |
| Nightstalker |
| I did my best to keep the cars looking at least somewhat attractive even thought they were riced to the nuts.. things like final and decals that were nearly ghosted onto the paint and picking the lesser of two evils with things like roof scoops by going for the more attractive onces that at least made a attempt at running with the car's body lines.. |
