You r better off getting a H23 & turboing it...

92_WhItE_H23
yea thats what i want to do. but if i get another H23 engine i want it to be new or atleast less then 20k on it. but if its going to cost me 5 grand for a new H23 id rather pay 2200 for an h22 and spend the rest on a supercharger or turbo

mike3
lol, Why don't you just rebuild yours?

92_WhItE_H23
i dunno...its got 240k on it. id rather just get something new so i dont have to worry about anything..thats why i want a new car but i also what a 4th gen project just as bad...but a new car would be more reliable

mike3
well, replace like everything on the engine thats likley to go wrong after time...it'll be cheaper in the long run

92_WhItE_H23
well ive talked to a few builders and it looks like even just a good rebuild will run me over 3500 not including internals. so its gunna cost me 5 grand any way i go so might as well get vtec? im thinking about the Jdm H23 VTEC. 200 hp same compression =D

mike3
3500 for rebuild and no internals...that seems kinda high...you didn't go to EZ did you?

92_WhItE_H23
thats a full rebuild the engine is fully built minus the internals...its strong enough to hold 20 PSI safely and 6-700 hp capable apparently..

mike3
our engines, your once their rebuilt? i've heard ours can hold 8 max, and thats pushin it

92_WhItE_H23
maybe on stock internals...i wouldnt do a rebuild unless i was going all the way with it..if not wats the point. and ive actually seen our pushed to 12 stock successfully i read about it somewhere on the net last summer

im trying to plan what i want to do come spring. if i do an engine swap what am i looking at for price in terms of having an engine installed??? whats the average price like 8-900?

theonly3rd
depends what engine i know to get a b20a5 or jdm b20a or any other normal engine swapped should not be more then 400-500 but if it is big swap then prob more

I don't think they sell crate motors....i think they sell used motors.

at this point the only ppl i know of that sell crate motors are in the states. Full custom built crate motors. Pretty much you tell them what kinda power you have, and at what RPM.
I don't recall any H22A crate motors that were available for the general public, that are from Japan.

There are however, Bseries and Fseries crate motors readily available in Japan.

Of course the higher your aspirations the higer the price

There's one guy in the GTA area that sells a modified h22 motor....lets just call it an H30A :D

mike3
James, did you get your car going? i saw it parked on whyte ave this afternoon

98Luder
yea my cars' been fixed for a couple months now i think.
I was just waiting for parts...thats' why it took so long

H30A....hmm....
i can't even imagine that...must have some savage torque. Heh...however, it probably has a 6400rpm redline...hehe :bthumbup
Even with a 90mm bore the stroke must be so long, heh, maybe he's got block deck extender :fingersx:
