yes because I didn't know which states were for/against slavery
and also that it would be SO similar in voting preference
no...because I can understand that ideals & values are passed along thru time

You want scary, go pick up a history book about the political development of the Nazi regime in Germany and compare it to modern american politics.
I'm not saying Bush is Hitler, but those who ignore history are bound to repeat it and most americans can't be bothered to remember what happened more than a week or 2 ago.... so... :dunno: |

...err, I hate to point out the staggering ignorance of history in this thread, but...
...Those supposedly "ignorant" southern states were almost uniformly Democrat in the time of slavery, while President Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN.
Give it up guys, Bush is still around. Look at the bright side, you can make jokes and feel superior for another four years. |
