Give a lady a hand?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

SweetasSugar
Hi everyone....

I am new to this forum and need some help :-)

I am looking for anything cool that I can do to modify my car... so far I have done the esthetic things (window tint, spoiler, etc)... any ideas on how I can make my SX 2.0 better??

Thanks.....

v8slayer
Can you post pics of your car please..it will help us.

Are you interested in performance or handling?
What kind of driving do you do?

Nightstalker
Ya, its important to set goals for your car, what kind of budget do you have, and what do you want to use the car for, those are two very important questions before you really start working on it.

SweetasSugar
I am not looking to make a super modified car... just looking to make it look great and be a little peppeir than the other SX 2.0's on the road.... I will get a pic posted soon.... but I can tell you it's midnight blue with limo tint on the back 3 windows, I have the mini SRT spoiler and all accessory lights are blue... I also tinted the taillights.... any other ideas?? Oh ya, I am also looking for different wheels... 15" preferably....

JustinL
I think lowering makes the biggest aesthetic difference. Should also improve handling too.

Don't go too low, just enough to get rid of the gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender. Make sure you have it done properly so your wheels stay aligned properly.

I'm not sure if Neons run the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, but if they do I have some nice, light, decent looking white 15"-5 spokes I'll sell you for cheap.

Adam @ Apex
the bolt pattern is 5x100.

I just happen to have some rota slipstreams in stock. I'll let em go for 650.00.

I can also hook you up with an intake and some exhaust work. Its minor mods but it'll liven the car up nicely. Maybe some smaller things like plug wires or a under drive pulley.

If you want the car lowered we can do that as well.

We can dyno the car before and after as well to show you the gains the parts net you.

If youre interested give me an email at adam@apexmodified.ca

WOW, thank you all so much....

I hope you guys don't mind to much if I hang around for abit... cars have always been of interest to me so it's cool to see what others are doing to their cars :-)

ManHunter
Why would we mind? The more the merrier!

And yeah, Apex Modified are the kings of the neons... go see them.

I just checked out the apex website... not much there yet as far as products for sale... maybe Adam can message me and let me know what he has :-P

awesome burnout by the way (as seen on the apex website)

Nightstalker
What you should really do is take a trip down to there shop if you want to see what they have to offer. Usually if they listed everthing it would end up being a massive list of stuff.

REFLUX
Welcome to the community! :)

I also recommend going to Apex Modified. Adam's a great guy with awesome service.

The suggestions given in the above posts are all good ones (except for dance_of_curse hahaha)
my personal recommendation is to lower it an inch or two with progressive springs (whatever gets rid of the wheel gap & prog springs should keep it relatively comfy with some sportiness), wheels (16" in my opinion) and sign up for the driving school at Race City in Calgary. You will learn more about your car and find out what you'd like to improve about it as you decide to modify it more to suit your own personal tastes.

It happens once a year (end of April/beginning of May) and sign up is usually full by end of January. $400 for 2 days of in class & in car instruction with instructors sitting with you for all in car sessions. Caters to EVERYONE of all skill levels, from just learned how to drive to experienced racers. Cars range from Pontiac Sunfires/Cavaliers to Dodge Vipers, Porsches, etc.

If driving on a full out race track isn't your thing, check out the Evolution Autocross school.
You drive around a huge parking lot/cement area weaving around pylons. Very safe, very cheap, very frequent, lots of fun.
