just out of curiosity - does $1000.00 before taxes sound reasonable for a remote starter (2 way) and a run of the mill alarm - including install on a 5 spd and a picachoo (sp) to override the sentry key system....?

Mekanik22
$1000? That doesn't sound right to me. And besides, most shops don't install starters on stick shifts. Alot of people leave them in gear, so that's why...

you didn't go to EZ motorsports did you? anyways it should maybe be around $500

I believe most of the sponsors have Compustar alarms/starter combos for the 500-600 mark (Transform Spoilers, Garage Works, etc...).

And any good starter won't start if the car is left in gear. I doubt there are many shops around that don't install starters in manuals.

$1000 sounds like too much. If you need the bypass for your stock security system the price should still be between 6 and 700 bucks. I paid $735 for a compustar installed on my 5 speed over 2 years ago and the prices have come down since then. And that is with the bypass for the GM passlock.

this was a quote from the power center I think it was called on 170st.... they told meit would be like 350 for the starter, plus 250 to install then like 150 for the alarm and then 50 for the override of the sentry key system plus install of 100 and then 100 for the accuators (sp) to allow for power locks....

I dunno seemed high to me...

Mekanik22
JB's Power Center? Yeah, $1000 sounded wrong.

You're getting hosed, the only thing that you should be paying extra for is if they add actuators for the locks like you mentioned, otherwise i had my compustar 2way installed at ez-motorsports for $525 incl tax, hooking up my door locks, and the bypass module. I will recommend their install, call Kevin, 944-1088
Good Luck!

Or you could go to somewhere that is not EZ motorsports..

AH! Don't go to E-Z Motorsports. I suggest David Lee and Garage Works. He does more then an awsome job on anything and everything. I have him doing some work for my 240 right now and it's looking GREAT!

energie
ya thats way too much. Definetly go to the sponsers that r on the boards here.
