icydude
I am selling a 1 lb block of magnesium that i no longer need. it is 99.9 % pure and i am looking for about 22 dollars for it. its loacted in edmonton.
As a precaution
(1) I will not sell to anyone that does not know the proper saftey procedures of the metal.
(2)If you are looking to buy i would recomend you look on the net for how to properly use this.

Also, i will consider offers.

dance_of_curse

JoeBlow
just curious what would you use magnesium for all i can find it being used for is than alloys and fire works and things like that.

icydude
yeah mostly its used for something to do with fire. its used for fireworks in small amounts and its really great for starting thermite and its jus awesome to burn to.

So what would happen if I dropped this block into a campfire?

wjjeeper
HAHAHA!! a one pound block of magnesium in a campfire!
All I can say is you better have welding goggles on.

bigmack000
its hard to get a big block to ligth. i had a small camp fire block before and when i held a propane torch to it it didn't stat the whoel block on fire. i foudn i had to sat shavings of the block on the block to get it to go.

icydude
yeah u jus take a drill and drill it and u get great shavings.

mr_sars
I'll give you $20 if you're willing to sell it to me...:D

icydude
20 dollars if buyer pays shipping, demand is up and i have run out my next shipment comes in by the end of the week.

mr_sars
o_O shipping is required if we're both in edmonton???

icydude
no that was for everyone.....we can do a exchange if you do buy.

mr_sars
how much do you have? i might be interested in more than 1lb.

icydude
i can have as much as you would like, i do bulk orders once a week for a company.

dance_of_curse
what are the demensions for them....i bmx and it would be awesome to make a custom stem from magnesium...or a seat post...or even bolts..?

THUD
Bump for magnisum! .....toss it into a pile of coals let it start to fizz a bit then throw water on it...it will explode.

icydude
The blocks are, on average, 1.5" thick X 2.5" high X 3.25-3.75" wide (two widths due to trapezoid shape). If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me here.

dance_of_curse
can you get like a 4"deep by 3"wide by 4"tall piece and how much would that cost?

icydude
i am really not sure what it would cost to get a block of that size but i will look into it.

dance_of_curse
k thanks....i may be able to get mroe buyers to if i tell people who bike/make custom parts at the skate park!

icydude
