Hell yeah! Welcome to the club, man.
Was that back when they were still using the Super 3.8, or the 4.6L V8? I thought they made the switch in '94.
Oh, after some snooping, it apears the N/A six was standard in the XR7 and the 302 was optional. I see you've got the 302. Prepared to be harrassed. :p |

What's wrong with a 4.9? They sound beautiful. |

I was reffering to the fact that V8's aren't really the most welcome configuration around these parts. I have absolutely no problem with them.
And even though it's short of 5000cc's, it's never been the 4.9. Ford's not the only one to bump the figure either. |

| I have no problem with V8s, I don't think many of the real tuners here do. Yes we will make Mullet jokes and poke fun but thats all it is. Its not what you drive, its the way you drive what you have thats important  |

I don't care what Ford thinks. As far as I'm concerned it's a 4.9L. |

Well, be prepared to get looked at like an idiot if you call a 302 a 4.9 in front of anyone who owns one. Half the engines on the market have the litre mark rounded up. And that goes for imports too.
btw, they called the 302 and Chevy 305 5.0L because of racing regulations demanding all displacements be below five litres. I can't remember now if it was NASCAR or Trans Am. Anyway, that's where the 5.0 moniker came from.
Anyway, Sweetassugar, please do. You may get treated like a traitor at BP's by the hardcore muscle car guys. I know I was treated like shit for being with these guys, despite the fact that I drive a domestic RWD. And I was trying to compliment a guy one his killer late 50's Suburban custom.
My brothers had a '68 Dart 2-dr post with the leanin tower o' power. (slant six) :D Wicked cars, in my opinion. Not many cars could beat the Hemi-dart in those days either. |

Allo allo. Don't worry about the people that aren't fans of V8s, most often they're just not fans of the stigma that surrounds the cars, not so much the cars themselves....not to mention they don't like getting their asses kicked by them. hehehe
Welcome, enjoy the boards! |
