| i just installed a stick of 512 ddr ram and holla by comp is fast again... before i had 256 ddr now i have 768 ddr....what do you guys think i have another slot left should i install another 512 ddr....my plans in the spring is to build another comp..so if i but the ram now i will just put the ram in the new one...should i hold out til next spring and hope the price of ram goes down? |

i would wait.. depending on what u plan to get for your next system. I believe that the ddr ram is getting faster as well.
256 isnt really enough to run a system.. i run win2k.. and when ONLY windows loads.. im already using 110mb!... i have 384mb.... whihc is quite good, and i get down to like 60mb free when i have loads of apps running.
Right now i got 160mb free... :D running kazaalite, winamp, outlookXP, netscape 7.0, icq, yahoo msgr adn killad. |
